The Hunter Chapter March Run will incorporate an economy run on SATURDAY 13th March.
We will do a 200km run around the lower Hunter stopping in to have a look at the Hawkes Nest Motorfest.
Starts at the Thornton BP servo at the end of the F3 Freeway leaving at 10am. We will fill up there and again at Heatherbrae on the way home and then do the calculations.
There will be 1600, 1800, 2l classes and we will publish the results as a bench mark to see if they can be bettered the next year.

The Hunter March Run incorporating a fuel consumption trial was a great success despite the showers.

13 cars attended and the run was over 174kms of mainly country running - I did it at normal run speed just not accellerating flat out as one tends to with a 1600, my max speed according to the GPS was 117kph.

The best results were:
1600cc – Phil Mayo – 6.35 l/100kms (the only 1600cc)
1800cc - Mark Gray – 6.28 l/100kms -1st outright
2000cc – Jacqui Christie - 6.75 l/100kms NC Coupe
Gas Guzzler – Jenni Chapman – 7.40 – NB SE – “If you’ve got power – you use it”

It was agreed by all competitors that the economy run was worth doing and we will make it a separate event to a run next year so drivers can really take it seriously.
