After last year's Iceberg Run to the Megalong Valley, this year it's time to follow suit. After a bit of planning, a lot of driving and plenty of brunches on the south coast, the plans for this year are ready to go.
The date will be Sunday August 2nd
Meet at Heathcote Maccas carpark (Princes Hwy) at 5:30am for a 6am departure. Head off via the Royal National Park, and Sea Cliff Bridge, up Bulli Pass, down Mt Kiera, then toward Albion Park, and along the Illawarra Hwy through Macquarie Pass. From Robertson, we take Pearson Lane to Kangaroo Valley, then take the long way to Berry. Depending on the time, and parking situation at Berry, either we stop in Berry for breakfast, or take the much twistier route back into the Kangaroo Valley to eat. Berry is preferable, as it gives a few different options for people on the return journey.
The route is here and is approx. 175km.
Thanks to all who offered suggestions earlier re this run.
Hope to see as good a turn out as last year!
Cheers,
James

This is an awesome drive route and I'll try to be there if possible (maybe I'll join when you pass through Albion Park). I've organised the same run on several occasions. 6am start ensures you should have very little traffic.
BTW, I'd recommend you take the Yallah turn-off just before Albion Park, and then head out to Macquarie Pass via the country back lanes of Marshall Mount, Calderwood and North Macquarie. There's even a nice creek crossing at the end which provides a great photo opportunity.

I hope you can come along! the more the merrier! Let any other car clubs know about the drive, and all are welcome.
Can't wait for the Brass Monkey with the AHOC this year. Bathurst's looking like a great drive, especially compared with last year up the F3..

Wish I could. This time with my new road tyres, i'd like to keep them in good condition. I'm just waiting for the right set of track wheels to come along so i can slap some track tyres on them.
