I'll be there for this one. 8) It seems like forever since I've been on a club run.

Yes, forecast is not looking too good, maybe a hoods up day but nevertheless should be a fun drive and the view from the Club should still be sensational :!:

I hope you all had a fun drive today, despite the rubbish weather. You were playing in my backyard! I took my MX-5 for a little run this morning from Albion Park to Kiama via Jamberoo, and return. Didn't spot any MX-5s on the way.

We were there somewhere. We came down Jamberoo Pass then on to Kiama via Swamp Road so that's probably why you didn't see us. There was a good turnout for such a wet day. I think I heard someone mention 23 cars but I could be wrong. There were quite a few newbies too. 8) The fog through Maddens Plains was pretty bad and I had some grippage issues on the lower half of Macquarie Pass, but apart from that it was fun.

Ended up with 28 cars in the end which was tremendous for the day. I’m not sure if that number includes another car we picked up at Jamberoo.
I was tail gunner and it’s amazing how many people drift along not using their run sheet.
The last 5 cars were going up Macquarie Pass separated from the main group by a sloooowwww moving Falcon. Eventually the first three cars were able to overtake leaving just two of us behind the Falcon for the last couple of kilometres to the top of the mountain. We turned off on Jamberoo Mountain Rd and stepped on the accelerator. I thought that we’d catch the cars in front a couple of K’s down the road but couldn’t spot them. Then knowing they would be slow down the mountain I thought we’d get them there but no.
Got to the next staging point and found the three cars weren’t there. :? They had sailed past the Jamberoo Mountain Rd turn off and were heading towards Bowral before 5 minutes down that road they worked out they were going the wrong way. Guess they have learnt to read their run sheet now.
I had expected with all the rain we have had in the last few days that there would have been a lot more water over the road especially on Macquarie Pass but I expect it’s been so dry lately that most of it just soaked in.

Congratulations to Kim & Pete for another great run. The food at the Fisho's was huge. I had lemon sole and they served two large pieces of fish plus the side bits.

Yes 28 cars included the car that joined us from Jamberoo. It was certainly a good roll up considering the weather and it certainly puts a different perspective on driving through fog and rain we even managed a little bit of blue sky at the Fisho's Club. Thanks again for all the helpers on the CB radios it does help to keep most cars in line although we always get a few that DON'T READ THEIR RUN SHEETS and head off into never never. Hope to do this run again in the future and with a bit of luck get a sunny day.

Good work Peter and KIm on organising a fun day.

It was a bit challenging due to the weather but certainly worth the effort. After a lifetime of driving past the Fisho's at Gerroa I finally got to have a meal there. Great view of the coast.

Just a thought. Next time we drive through Maddens in bad weather we should equip ourselves with fog horns. Would have been very useful yesterday. Shame we didn't have enough time to have a bit of a stroll around Jamberoo village.

Also, next run down south, a stop at the Robertson pie shop for morning tea might be something different to try.

Also, for those driving solo, reading the trip notes and trying to drive simultaneously can be difficult, so I think people may just follow the car in front and hope he/she knows the way.

Now I know what happened to the three cars in front of me.! (and I thought I must have been driving too slow)

An interesting drive with weather. At one point you even had problems seeing the rain.

Even though the weater tried to put a dampener :o on the day it was another great event.

Well done Kim & Peter and all the people that helped make the day.

Some photos of the day.
