Show & Shine and Barefoot Bowling

For NSW Club Members

When: Sunday 4th May 2008
Where: Hawks on Second Avenue, 9 Second Ave Eastwood, in the carpark.
Time: 10:45am…don’t be late!
Details: Would you like to show off your ‘pride & joy’ in a relaxed venue while enjoying a snack for lunch, a beer or glass of wine and then a game of barefoot bowls in the afternoon? If so, come along and join us for this fun filled day.

To help promote Hawks on Second Avenue, owned by Ryde-Eastwood Leagues Club who allow us to use there rooms for annual, general and monthly meetings free of charge, the NSW MX-5 Club has been asked to stage a Show & Shine display of 15 cars by their management.
By being part of this event, Hawks will give you a chance to win a dinner for two if your MX-5 takes out the “Best Car” Peoples’ Choice, as voted by guests on the day.

RSVP is essential
for the Show & Shine and/or the bowling.
Please e-mail socialsec@mx5.com.au to book you spot before 18th APRIL!

As a word of warning, last time I went there, I bottomed out hard on the speed bumps in the underground carpark. They've got those damned prongs that only let you go one way. Since they depress and expand when you go over them, they go down when your wheel goes over them, but spring back up and scrape hard on the bottom side when you clear them with your wheel. This happened with two of us in the car at stock ride height in a NB8A.

Don't ask me why I decided to share that pointless bit of trivia...

I have something on the day before and I daresay I'll be way too written off to attend anything at that time on a Sunday. Unfortunate, because it sounds like home and is nice and close (relatively) to where I live.

:D :D What a great day, well organised had 17 cars in all which was a good attendance. Everyone enjoyed the day, well done CB. The barefoot bowling was fun and not as easy as it looks. Hats off to the members of Hawks Club for their hospitality and patience with showing us all how to bowl. Look forward to another bare foot bowl day.
