Hello Everyone,

It looks like the Committee has given a green light to my proposal for a run over the Easter weekend which will see us based in Port Macquarie, so thought I'd give you a bit of a heads up before the offical notification comes out.

The weekend will include lots of great scenery and a variety of attractions in the area, not to mention some terrific roads. There is a bit of something for everyone.

For those interested in the driving, how about a weekend including the Putty Road, Bulladelah Bends, Oxley Highway (in both directions), a portion of the Grafton / Armidale Road through Nymboida and the Dorrigo Mountain. Throw in a few other interesting drives and it should be a load of fun.

If you arent into the driving as much, remember that all these roads offer great scenery and oppotunities for craft shops, wineries, etc.

The Saturday and Sunday runs will be optional so you can pick the bits of the weekend that suits you. There is no offical return run on the Monday so you can make your own way home or form a smaller group.

There is even an option of a two night stay (Friday and Saturday) instead of the full three night package.

A BBQ dinner (including fish) is included on the Friday night, as is a hot breakfast each morning. There is an optional 3 course dinner on the Sunday night so we can all get together and have a laugh over stories from the weekend before we head home on Monday.

If anyone wishes to attend that it doesnt suit to start from Sydney (eg. Hunter chapter, Queensland club) I can arrange meeting points.

I hope you are able to make the run and be included in what should be an awesome weekend. Keep your eyes out for the official notification.

Cheers

If I've got a job by then count me in, the weekends away with the car club are great fun!

KK,

Is the motel in Port Maq the same one that I used for the last weekend away?

No, he was booked out with a motorcycle group over easter. He wants to come on one of the day runs with us though. We will be staying at El Paso Motor Inn, on site restaurant, in town so easy walking to eateries on the Sat night, enough rooms to fit us in if it proves to be popular, and a reasonable rate (most wanted a premium over Easter).

I wanted to book that one myself last time but they had some family reunion on that weekend, and they'd booked the place out already. Be good to stay there this time though! 8)

I spent yesterday doing a final reccy for day one and two. It was great that I had rain for a lot of the journey, so badly needed around the state. All is looking good, I'm excited !!!!!
