Hunter Valley Run June 18th

An MX5 Club run leaving from Rofe Park Hornsby. Up the Old Pacific Highway then turn into Wisemans Ferry Road to Mangrove Mountain, and on to Wollombi and finally to Broke and Hunter Valley Gardens for lunch.
Sort of the reverse leg of the Wollombi run. Plenty of twisty roads, the 60K limit on the best 11k of Old Pacific will be a bit sad  :frown: , otherwise should be a good run.
See the MX5 web site for June Club events and look up Bob & Jan's Twisty Hunter Valley Run. http://www.mx5.com.au/nsw/NewSite/Conte ... Events.pdf

I'll do this run, although it will likely be in reverse, ie. drive to Hornsby then to the the Gardens and then short trip back to Newcastle thereafter.

See you there!

\"Can a non member join in, presumably ok and is there an intinery available, like what time would you pass thru Central Mangrove I'd like to join up with you guys when you pass thru there\"

Sorry I have taken so long to reply.
Firstly, welcome as a non-member. We will ask you to sign onto the run as a guest, give you a run sheet and insist that you follow some very reasonable rules. After that we throw rotten tomatoes at you if you don't sign up.

I intend to have a brief catchup stop at the intersection of Wiseman's Road and George Downes Drive. If we do get away at 9:30 AM, I reckon it will take at least an hour to get there. So be there at 10:30 and wait. Please make contact with me. I will be wearing the Secretary of the MX5 Club badge.

Hey there Robert,

What time do you estimate you would be at the gardens for lunch?

Mandi and I might be able to meet up with you while you are there.
I will take your mobile number with me incase I have to call you too.

The Dog will be there. Leave pass authorised. Scouting mission approved for Opera in the Vines in October 8) Well I wouldn't want to get lost driving up there - this way I'll have a run sheet and everything... :P

Just got home after a fabulous day's driving! Big thank you to Robert & Jan for organinsing the run and turning on such beaut weather! I successfully scouted the Opera in the Vines jaunt for my better half later in the year 8) , and came home via the Putty Rd - sort of a reverse STM run! What fun, spoiled only by plod who led the way through much of the twisty middle section, then tailed us for a while just to make sure   Had five 5s in convoy for the return trip, including ceedub on his first NSW run. Hope you got home ok Cam... :)

Just adding to the thanks being rightfully heaped on Robert and Jan.

It was a great day, really good run, fantastic twisty roads and good company.

Always good, even if only to put some faces to go with the alias' on aus-cartalk.com.

I too would like to add my thanks to Bob and Jan for a great run. Had a great drive and it is alway nice to put some faces to the names on the forum. We had a great run back down Putty Rd afterwards, it really is a good road (except the Police presence - oh well...). Definitly looking forward to the next run.

Ian.

P.S. Have some photos, so when I get the time in the next few days I will post them.
