First NSW www.OZMAZDA.com event - Need suggestions!

Postby maxwolfie » Mon Jan 23, 2006 12:19 pm

Hey guys!

As you may or may not have heard, a few fellow MX-5'ers have started a new (free) official events community, located at http://www.OZMAZDA.com

Currently we are doing quite well and have already been approached for sponsorship - I'll let Paul (PT) spill the beans though once this has been organised.

Our aim is to hold frequent official events from all over Australia, including dyno days, track days, meets at drag strips, photoshoots, or even just simple meet and greets.

To kick start it, I'd like to get an idea of numbers and what we want to get up to for our first meet! It wont be for a little while however, as we are still arranging a few goodies :D

We'd like to work in tandem with aus-cartalk.com to bring out the best for the Mazda community! So please, grab an account and come out with us on our first official event, it should be a ball regardless of what we do! I know a few of you are already down for whatever :P

Please visit the thread here for updates, and voice your suggestions so arrangements can be made!

Perhaps if you joined the NSW CLub and put your hand up to join the committee, you would learn a few things about organising events and such.

The NSW Club certainly has nothing against others organising events for MX-5 owners, in fact we do encourage it, but the first thing you have to be is decisive in what you want to do and how you want to do it.

Not trying to blow my own trumpet here, but the NSW Club has a lot of experience in running car-related, and even non-car related events, and by joining the committee, you too will learn a few tricks of the trade.
We're looking for a new Captain and a Publications person as well, so perhaps you should consider joining us and then YOU can help guide us to do things you think would be popular and well attended by the members.
We have had dyno days, track days - all sorts of things, and we are always looking for fresh blood.

Later this year, when we have the elections, we will be looking for a new president and/or vice president as well as filling those roles that as yet have not been filled this year, so you have a great opportunity to make a real difference without having to go out on a limb and start afresh.

The other thing is club sanctioned days are covered by CAMS, so even going on a cruise you have some protection.
