Sounds like it was a bit of an adventure for you guys. I wonder whether the clearance wheel thing would've hit my butterfly brace...

At the end of the day, they could have confiscated our cars if they felt like it, and would have been up to us to prove otherwise in court, prob about 6 weeks to get heard, by which time the damage would’ve been done

Also had one tyre with inside wear on the indicators,
so if he kept going franticly over the car like in the first 5 min, he would have found things, but by that stage he was calmer and then stopped to talk(lecture) me face to face, which was good because his attention was now away from the car, whatever he said was reasonable, just doing his job of trying to make the roads a safer place, I guess he initially thought we didn’t respect that so was going off.
We thought we got lucky, but maybe it has nothing to do with luck.

Excuse my wording as im not too law literate :)

What I meant to say is, it may be hard if the officer alleges something like my vehicle appeared reckless and out of control, and I said it wasn’t,
or he may allege something else that will be my word against his.

What would happen in that case?

he would need to get witness statements from those that were there at the time, of your alleged reckless driving.

if it was his word against yours without any witnesses, you'd probably get up on the win. without any evidence, he's buggered.

Guys (and girl),

Thanks for a fantastic run... that was just awesome, and Tenchi... saw your pix on Flickr and they look cooool... even me gol..uhhh.... orange car looks spiff-y... you've inspired me... next time we do this guys, remind me to get an ultra-wide and maybe even my semi-fisheye and we can get some really silly pix.

I'm stoked on that run through McCarrs ... was speaking to someone about it, and he mentioned West Head Rd... is that any good?

Haha on all the cop trouble :D ... good thing I just went home... too much excitement for the old guy.

The cops apparently had video and audio footage of everyone dragging. I'm pretty sure we'd be buggered. Although if the footage is only of me and rotary at the end we could get a copy of the footage and argue that we weren't breaking the law, we weren't "street racing" or speeding or doing burnouts or driving dangerously. And thats probably why they didn't do much but try and defect us because they know we would have gone to court.

marcus im pretty sure your car would fail, get something that is 100mm and your entire car should clear it, which means that it pretty much has to be stock height. I raised the car today and its a freaking monster truck (and I can't get the camber I need for semis). I can't live with a car that high, every time I look at it i just want to get into it and drive off a cliff. I might get bigger wheels and with bigger diameter tyres so they fill the guards out without having to lower the car as much. Either that or just dump it again and avoid friday nights. GOing to start to look for new wheels and tyres now, something super stylish, gotta live sexy.

Tenchi, nice pics, I see you haven't gone crazy angle this time, its much better. You still like to underexpose your shots though (or push the blacks or something). Lighting was hard I know. Not that many pics this time?? I swear you took hundreds. I'd like to see more even if they're not sharp.
Love this shot btw (not of last night)

Yeh only took about 30 shots in milsons.

The night running shots were blurry as well...nothing at all in them (curses to stiff suspension)

Sasso, what monitor are you using? That could account for a difference in what I can see. The images I'm editting also look tiny....running a 24" @1920x1200. That shot of an FTO was from random Prelude cruise today lol

As for laws, there was one where an officer can arrest you if they suspect you of losing traction within the past 10 days. Recordings of such events are also considered illegal.

Thanks to Stan for leading the way and everyone who turned up!!! 8)

It was a good run and im sure everyone had fun on those twisties throught mcarrs creeks...it was a ashame that the cops turned up as we were about to turn off to Church Point. It would have been good if we made it through Akuna bay. Next time boys and girls.

Lucky we manage to all escape unscathed. Well, some of us. :D

Sasso, hope you get the defect/s cleared for todays track day.

See yous all at the next meet!
