Im looking at a Pie in the Sky meet up.

Weeeeelllllllllll it seems someone has made a booking for 8 people at the Mooney Mooney Club 11.30am.
I just rang to confirm. =)

Ok, I mean no offence to anyone here - just asking the tough question:
Are there multiple cooks here again?
Sliq's got it down packed for breakie at Bliss then lunch at Singleton right?
What is with the PITS and Mooney Mooney booking?
P.S. I'm going with the exact route and itinerary that Sliq's putting forward since he's planned the trip

From the 1st post
Leave by 0600 hours from McGraths Hill/Windsor McDonalds, Cnr Windsor Rd & Groves Ave
- Be at Halfway House by 0730 hours
- Pie in the Sky by 1130 to 1200 hours.
- The run will be approximately 400km
So Pie in the sky is the finish mark than
I went on one over 12 months ago and had a ball, I should see you all Sunday.

Last time i drove this 5 years ago we did indeed end up at Pie In the Sky after the Putty road etc, i just struggled with the time line that you would be there at 11.30 going by this route, i think it was around 2 pm last time i did this.
The "halfway house" confused me as ive never heard of this, thought it might be some well known members home or something! I see its on Putty road now.
OK, in that case i will motor down Putty road in the opposite direction until i meet up.

Re: Informal Annual Putty Rd Run Sunday 16 January 2011
I have dríven the Putty Road to the Lower Hunter on numerous times. The site of the Half Way House/Roadhouse is over the ridge at the northern end of the Garland Valley and was burnt down a few years ago. The site is abandoned. A toilet block remains that is not connected to a sewer or serviced. I doubt if the derelict toilets are fit for use from what I observed the last time I stopped there about a year ago.
I am unsure how long it takes to get to the old Roadhouse but recall that it was about 90 minutes. The usual turn off for the Lower Hunter is right at Milbrodale about 150 km north of McGraths Hill McDonalds being a few kilometres past the gorges. The first toilet is at the General Store/Servo at Broke about 10 km from Milbrodale. Allow about 2 hours to get to Broke provided there are no delays.
Broke to Pokolbin is around 25 km and takes about 20 minutes. Bliss is in Hunter Valley Gardens and opens at around 9.00am.
Bliss to the Pie in the Sky on the most direct (F3) route takes about 90 minutes.

Halfway House was a servo/cafe on Putty Road at Putty. It burnt down about a year ago so don't expect any usable facilities there. The toilet block was a no-go zone last time I passed through!
I'm in for this drive - I'll be in the 135i this time.

Have a nice run people, I am sad I cannot make it. We did the national park, macquarie pass, highlands, macquarie pass, national park run last monday. Very wet and easy to put a foot wrong. Be careful if it is wet as the Putty Road can be tricky.
WHo is up for another run in Autumn???

The original post stated the finish of the run is at PITS at around 11.30am
Which is cool, pretty sure it didn't mention stop over in singleton but that's cool also.
I have to be at work at Mooney at 11.30, so I'll be headed back south to make it in time.
I was at work today on reception and noticed there is a booking for Sunday lunch in the name of a fellow forum memeber. I rang to confirm this booking and they are in for lunch at the conclusion of the run, which if we are going by the original post should be around 11.30.
Didn't realise mentioning this would cause an issue, so just forget I said anything because it's after the run has finished anyway.
