Remember, always!,...no... NEVER! do runs on a friday or saturday night. It helps if you don't drag each other at the lights too. right in font of cop cars
Not sure how Rotary went but I just got defected for height (fair enough, the exhaust hit halfway down their little 100mm wheel) and one tyre had a bit of wear on the inside (which i was pissed about, its not dangerous).
Apart from that, was a good night! Good to see everyone again. Hope to see you at some track days.
PS. Tenchi I hope you got some good pics of my car coz its gonna look like a 4wd soon.

No Fines, no Defects(my car), there was nothing to really fine us for, so they tried very hard to find a defect.
At that time we didn’t go over the speed limit, no wheel spin from take off, not even a chirp, just a 3 second acceleration to 50-60, so they didn’t have much to go by as far as street racing(even though they threatened it). It’s only because we where in a group, and attracted attention.
The officer began on some power trip, with a very angry demenour, shouting at a bystander etc.
Anyway I was very respectful, and stayed quiet most of the time, then when he tried to defect my car for being too low(its totally stock ) I respectfully asked if we could check it on a flat surface, he then yelled “how much flatter do you want” ( 1 side was in a gutter), but I stayed quiet
He kept looking for defects, couldn’t find any, so he wen’t back to it being too low, I politely said “Honestly officer this is the standard car, I haven’t modified it in any way, even the wheels are standard as is the rest.” Then I got out of the car and said “maybe my weight is making it a bit lower” he checked again and it was better.
By this point he was coming around, and he did lecture me some more, but was much calmer, and said “I like that your car is very standard, so I won’t give you a ticket” and other things like” it’s a nice drive around here but if you want to keep this(holding my license) then drive sensibly.” I agreed, thanked him and he was actually quite respectful toward the end.
He was a lot better to Sasso after that which was good.
His attitude is just part of the job, it kind of gauges how I respond to it, but I remained calm with zero attitude back,
And even though we didn’t do anything unsafe, there's a culture against street racing, and that’s fair enough as there are some people that don’t know when enough is enough.
A related story, about 3 years ago on George st. City, two police paddywagon Rodeos where stopped at the lights side by side, 1 with two young male officers, the other with two female officers, they both gunned it of the lights, revved out first gear and a bit in second before backing of, I remember thinking, can I confiscate your paddywagons now
But there aint nothing wrong with it, it just might appear wrong,
I guess there’s a time and place for everything and it was pretty stupid to do what we did on a main rd, friday night, group etc. even though it wasn’t breaking the law. Lesson learned and sorry to the other guys for stuffing up the last bit of the drive , but it was a fun night anyway.

i think that cop was engaging in bullying and harassing.
i would have been super nice to him face to face.
but then report him in to the Royal Police Commissioner.
now where r the pics?

now THAT post should be made into it's own thread & stickied for future reference when young guys deal with the constabulary.
Full points to you Rotary, for taking the tactful, & respectful approach to a Police Officer who was balls out to book you. If it had been say, ducktape69 (no disrespect to ducky of course, but we ALL know his attitude towards police) you'd have been defcted or booked for SOMETHING, however vague it might have been.
thumbs up from me.
Don't worry about what people think, they don't do it very often

Oh sorry josh, don't you have a street directory? We all got split up because they were trying to catch all 4 of us.
Thanks for the offers for springs , I think the flexes should extend enough though.
Nah no demerits felix.
Like rotary I took the calm and cooperative approch, seemed to work because they went from we're gonna confiscate your cars at the start to only two minor defects with with no sticker or ticket. Only thing I protested against was the tyre wear but didn't seem to work so I didn't persist. They didn't defect the seat or steering wheel although it got a lot of attention, they seemed to be happy with the way it was bolted in and slid forward and back (though they did say its old looking). Didn't mind the mania CAI either, and didn't see the brake bias valve (it probably looks stock to them because its silver).
On the brighter side, I think rotary beat the Skyline.
Ah after all that I didnt end up taking any pics.

Maybe the cops sensed our racing auras.
Didn't take as many pics as I hoped because of a ummm early departure. But I should be able to post some good ones tonight.
A quick group shot

Next time man.
Thanks to everyone for coming again, I had fun.
Sasso, Nah I have never really used a street directory, haha.
It was ok though, I phoned a mate, woke his ass up and made him google map me.

Well i'm glad i didnt go! i would of been red labeled, considering they are smart enough to look at rotarys car and see a standard airbag wheel, then look at mine and see a different wheel. That stupid little wheel they have, just makes it past my sideskirts then hits the undertray of the car allwell it happens.
i think the meet at bella vista was good!, no cops, no traffic, just good hanging out! keen to see pics as usual.
