If it rains it will be a real downer for the day. Let's hope it stays clear. Every other day is meant to be fine... how crap is that.

Do you know the percentage of accuracy of a forecast more than 48 hours out? I have organised enough runs over the last decade with various clubs to know that up until the last 12 hours there's no point checking forecasts. But some people like to be seen to be keen, while not actually being so...
Yes, i'm stirring.
Oh, incidentally, even if the forecast is fine, when you crest Macquarie Pass, you are entering one of the highest rainfall areas in the state. I have been on drives around there which had rain and sun within the space of an hour. Fours seasons in one day and all that.
In short: prepare for anything!

The BOM also does forecasts for outside the Sydney CBD. Might be better to check them since the drive isn't through the burbs.

Home after a great run this morning. Thanks very much to Jimi for organising the drive and keeping everyone together. Unfortunately I forgot to pack my camera but there were plenty on the day and I'm sure someone will post some photos (hint hint). I think we had something like 15 cars in the drive, and everyone had their roof down like it's meant to be.
This was my first (very) early morning run in my MX-5 and I have to say I'm converted. I left home at 4:30am, rugged up with jacket, beanie, scarf and gloves, roof down and heater running on the feet and hands. Toasty warm despite the chilly ~3 degrees air temperature! How good is it to breath that crisp morning air, and catch wafts of wattle flowers, eucalypt leaves, fresh bread from the bakeries, and hot brakes in the twisties! Not to mention the odd stench of fresh roadkill and cowpats. Great fun!
