this really should of been an open event with discounts for memebers.. theres alot of people out there that want to \"test the water\" before joining. a BBQ, dyno and show n shine would of been prime for that.
on another note, i hope these become a little more regular quarterly would be good.. but im a hoon
and just like dyno days

No problems turning up to watch.

I'll bring along a few membership forms

The day is being put on for members of the club.

Why only members? Because that’s what being part of a club is all about. Enjoying the benefit that come with joining with a group of like-minded people. Just as you need to be a member to enjoy track days or go away on weekends with the club or to receive a reduced price on parts or a service.
As for a member discount, the $50 cost for the event is what the club is being charged per car. There is no profit for the club; in fact the club is supplying food for the BBQ.
“Testing the water†before joining is fine and we love to have people come along and have fun on a club run

Another problem with an open dyno day is setup time. With just MX5s, once the first car has been on the dyno the setup for blocks, tie-downs, etc doesn’t need to be altered as the wheelbase is the same. If you have a WRX, Monaro, XR8, etc., thrown into the mix you end up reducing the number of cars that can be done per hour and a lot of unhappy people.

“Quarterly Dyno days†I think numbers would drop drastically after the first one to the point where it wouldn’t be feasible to run. But ask around on the coming day and see what interest there is. You never know.
**************************************************
OK so you’re not a member and you still want to come along to the Dyno day and run your car. What do you do

$50 is a bargain! Normal rates for a dyno run are abot $88. I'm sure the shop would be happy to run non club cars for the usual $88 rate after the club cars are finished...

just out of interest, will all boosted cars be in the same category? Would a 1.6 be up against the 1.8s and a 2 litre if one turned up?
Since when did this get to be a competition? What difference does it make who has a few more kilowatts??? Or is that a typical blonde question!!
Why is it that everything to do with males and cars turns out to be a contest of some kind or the other?
You won't be measuring the length of the exhausts will you?

Pretty sure Jean doesn't need to understand, Beverly! Anyway, my exhaust is nearly as long as the car!

I assumed it was a contest by the mention of trophies...
Then again I may be wrong, the trophies may be given out on a luck door prize type of basis - Stranger things have happend...

*YAWN. Wakes up from dream*
It will be interesting to see how much or little kW make it to the rear wheels in each of the models.
Even more interesting will be to see how much of a difference a CAI and exhaust mod makes to an NB.

I thought I read that the NCvsNB comp was for pink slips?
What no SE bashing?
The only contest I'm interested in is not getting my fingers burnt on the BBQ.
As for the trophies and testosterone thing, the trophies are just for fun, generously provided by Mark at Dumar Auto Technics.

Funny though, I haven’t had an acceptance from the oestrogen set yet.

We're have just a couple of spots left after 11am, so if you're thinking you'll just turn up and have a run you may miss out. Book in NOW.
