I've enjoyed the run as always. Nice to see new faces turn up. Actually quite a few cars turned up. It was great.
What's not so great is the drive back home. In particular the bumper-to-bumper traffic from Katoomba to Lawson. What usually takes about 10-15mins to cover, took over an hour to do.
It took me an extra hour to get home. Not happy Jan.

Stunning photos as usual Andrew,
Pity they didn't let you do a quick hot lap while the road was closed.

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

We took Bells line....Karl drove all the way. I was asleep for most of it. Although traffic was heavy. It was defiantly moving.

There was a hill climb in process. Some serious hardware came past us just at that point.

Did any of you drive up the carpark on the top of the hill? I did and got really up close and personal on some of the cars. I particularly wanted to check out that silver F1 looking car from the 20s-40s. It looked like an old Audi.
Pity i forgot my camera today.

It came passed us . I'm sure Coffee Boss got a picture of it. It sounded absolutely mad.

Another great run
We started off in splendid form, pealing off onto the 'old' Castlereagh Rd, whilst the rest of the group who had seperated from us at the lights went straight on through behind us. Meanwhile the gunheads at the front (Karl and myself included) b!tched about blind leading the blind, then headed off down the road only to find it was a dead end and it was us who had gone the wrong way! Brilliant D
Caught up to the group at Blackheath, had a quick chat to Mark and checked out his immaculate 89 Eunos Roadster.... it's so original, virginal even! Then we headed off, and Karl lost his hat trying to get some good photos, so we had to double back. But this meant we could sit behind Mark's Roadster and watch an original NA tackle some classic b-roads, truly great stuff. Mark, if your on here, i have some photos for you!
Following a brief stop at Tarana we had a cracker of a stage with Stan and Michael's Midori buzzing away infront of us and Mr Q's immaculate SE baring down on us from behind - brilliant.
As for Bathurst being closed, i was honestly glad to see the track being used in some form. It's not the same being there without the sights and sounds of motorsport. There was even a prod-sports style stripped out NA amongst the competitors.
I believe it was an Auto Union replica - sure sounded classic. Will post all my pics once i get time to go through them all. A pity you couldn't make it Andrew, your wide angle would have been much more suitable then my clunky old zoom.
I made a point of trying to meet some more people, there really are lots of nice people to meet in the MX5 Club
As for traffic on the way home? Only passed 3 cars in 2 hours on the Porters Retreat road between Bathurst and Goulburn You guys must have gone the wrong way again
A couple of iPhone piccies:

I think the name of the lady is Leesa (forgot the husband's name). They are a member of the MX5 Club of NSW. Not sure if they visit the forum.
Deen says he's a forum member. I believe his alias is simply "Deen". Though he says, he's not a regular visitor to the forum.
How do you think the club would go if we recommend we have below our name in our club name tags (which I've never worn), we add our Alias'. I might wear it if it did.
