by jamberoo pass do you mean jaberoo mountain road?

Yeap, thats the one. I thought it would be a waste of time going down Maquarie Pass with all the Sunday afternoon traffic.

I hope you can get a leave pass for your annual Putty Rd run Stan. It wont quite be the same trying to keep up with the \"almost stock 1.6\" through the twisty bits at the end if your not there. :(

11 cars from Canberra made the journey including a ring in from Mudgee (prospective Canberra and Region resident).
It was great to meet up with folk from Sydney, the 'gong and Tamworth!
the 45, or therabouts, cars made a great sight in the town.

Fantastic run by Garry. He always puts on the great runs for us. This time the roads were filled with cherry blossoms and yellow wattle for 32 cars that included a few new members. 8)

Lunch at Bundanoon Country Hotel was a typical early 1900s country pub mixed with a bit of Faulty Towers. We will be able to tell the tales for years to come. It was great to meet up with the Canberra Chapter. We'll be down there soon.

We continued on for some lovely coffee and scones in Berima and then I led Ian (IBD000) cross-country to Jamberoo Mountain Pass for a MX5 downhill slalom treat. :D

Got to the bottom where he said he thought it was a one way road till a car came up the mountain the other way. :D Well we did use all of the road and it is quite narrow.

We had a great time. :D

What you didn't come?? Then don't miss Stan's Wollombi run in September. 8)

A big thanks to Garry for organising the run. It was so relaxing to cruise thru the country roads with the winds in your hair.... 8) And then it all goes out the window when you get back into Sydney and the rat race and everyone around you is fighting over lanes, cutting in and out of the traffic  Oh well, it was a great day while it lasted.

And another big thanks to Phil for the trip down Jamberoo Mt pass. It was my first time on the road, and I was amazed at how narrow it was - I did think it was a one way road until there were cars coming in the opposite direction

All in all a great day. Thanks all.

Thanks to everyone that came along. The day didn't quite go as I'd planned. Actually around 9am I didn't think I was going to be there at all due to my minor medical emergency.

After a rushed trip to the starting point by me we managed to leave fairly close to the designated time. I was disappointed with the pub. When I organised lunch there the manager assured me we would be having a roast as a menu option.......several times. I was looking forward to it but it never eventuated. :frown: And the service was abismally slow. I apologise to those people who waited for over an hour for their food and as a result the run sort of disolved at Bundanoon and most people missed the second part of the run. :(

Most of those that continued on managed to get a great run down Jamberoo Pass and through the National Park. Unfortunately Kuntry Kuzzin should have brought the STI down. Being the only non-turbo car he had a lot of trouble getting through the traffic in the MX5 and missed all the fun in the good bits.

Thanks to the ACT crew for joining us and for KK and Cambo making the trek down from Tamworth.

A special big thank you to Richard (rjastra) for saving the day at very late notice. Firstly he gave up his time and drove me around in the PoLo doing the reccy run. And secondly for delivering the run sheets, then handing them out and organised everyone's sign on at the run start point until I could get there. A few of you guys on here seem to have an issue with him but he's really not that bad.

Once again, thanks to everyone for coming and putting up with the things that didn't quite work out like they were supposed to. 8)

Cheers
