I wouldn't want something as small as a globe to get you pulled over ;)

coming back from work through galston gorge, i could finally feel the huge difference the alignment made. I thought it was good before but now it's incredible. I was W000'ing after every turn. The car has lost its tendency to oversteer and is much more neutral. It's a really great feeling and gives me even more confidence through the turns!

To anyone who was at this day - please try the Akuna Bay drive, as we did on a recent FnC drive - and marvel at the increased confidence and chuckability of the car. Quite amazing!
I've enjoyed the improvements on the drive to Brooklyn and around KCNP. Improved balance and the tail doesn't flick out as rapidly like it used to on really tight turns. Did I mention that the car feels much more chuckable?

Guys, I've just spoken to Spinning Wheels and have finalised a process for the people on the 'waiting list'.
(Assuming that you're a club member) If you can PM me with your FULL NAME and MOBILE NUMBER, I'll pass your details to Spinning Wheels.
Then all you'll need to do is call them up and tell them your full name and mobile number when you're setting up your appointment to get the $88 club discounted price.
Please PM by no later than this Sunday night with your details and you can call them starting from Monday arvo.

Re: MX5 CLUB SPINNING WHEEL ALIGNMENT & TECH DAY
Hey guys,
just following up on this, as I've been to Spinning Wheel a couple of times since this meet, and each time Stu asks me how everyone's alignment was.
So I checked into this thread to find out!
Stu loves feedback, any feedback. My car is better on the road, or worse, better on the track, or not.
What works is different for different cars, just as it is different for different drivers.
So if you have time, pop in and let Stu know how the result is.
I did just that this morning - his new settings for my car have made it a bit more forgiving for the road, AND helped net me a new PB on the weekend.

haha... good stuff CB.
I'll be getting my alignment tomorrow morning and I live close enough to give Stu a bit of an update every now and then.
1 question I have is... do you ever change your tyres? If so, how do you give feedback to Stu if you've tried a new alignment AND a new set of tyres at the same time?...

Re: MX5 CLUB SPINNING WHEEL ALIGNMENT & TECH DAY
If you read through my thread... OK that could take some time.
I'm on my... third set of tires with this car, but this would be this car's 5th or 6th visit to Spinning Wheel?
When changing tires, your bump characteristic will change with a stiffer tire (or softer, wider tire), and of course your lateral grip and wet and dry will change depending on the performance of the tire. But otherwise things will largely be as they were before.
Suspension geometry changes make for a larger change in road feel, though. A big change in castor, for example, you feel through the steering wheel the first corner you turn.
Yes, good settings will also maximise grip, but you're not really going to quantify this until you get back out to a familiar race circuit with a stop watch.
And that's assuming you are already doing consistent times.
