Hi fellow Brisbanites,

I saw that our Sydney mates had a very successful detailing day not so long ago, and they're planning another one which got me thinking.

Now that our weather is cooling down to more manageable levels, and the wet season should be behind us soon, how about we have a winter detailing day?

I figure if a few of us get together and do the detailing, take some pics for posting, then head somewhere for a well earned bite & refreshment after it should be a good day.

Thoughts?

Have you got a location idea at all?

Don't have a definite place yet, where there's room for several cars (work), it's as dusty as hell due to being alongside the Port of Brisbane motorway and there's no cover.

Here at my place there's only room for 2 cars under cover, so I'm open to any other suggestions people can come up with.

I would be interested in coming, only 2 garages tho!

Just to clarify, I'm not going to be there to do anything on my car, I'll only there to assist others by working on their cars.

I have a random orbital polisher and a couple of polishes so would rather help others achieve what they're after, especially as the community here has been so giving to me in knowledge, assistance and so much more, so I want to pay it forward.

Sounds great. I am interested in learning how to polish and restore my paint from people with the knowledge. Also will be a good chance to meet some of the forum members. Unfortunately I don't have much room to offer either.

Actually this sounds really good - I need massive help with my car. I just don't have the experience, equipment or knowledge to do certain things myself.

My attendance would depend on the details but i'd love to meet some of you.

Automotive Plus in Aspley have kindly come to the party, will need an idea of numbers so I can go and meet to discuss the fine details which I'll then report back with.

Will be a Saturday from 9am to 1pm, date to be determined after the meeting.

In order to make the best use of this time, I think we will have to limit the attendance to 6 cars to work on (not including mine) as it takes me 4 hours just to do a full wash & 4 pass detail on mine... Others welcome to come along and chew the fat, provide helpful hints, or even learn something!
