Nocturnal Nebo BBQ, January 12th 2013

Hey all, Mr. Starlet had a fantastic idea of having a BBQ up at Mt. Nebo one night very soon. Wonderful way of combining a night run with good food and great company.
He's got a portable gas & pan setup, and breads are sorted, so I guess it would be easiest if we all bring our own snags, BBQ meats, munchies, drinks, etc. If we each bring enough for 1.5 people there would be plenty to go around.

If you would like to be a designated person to bring a certain thing, please tell me; Those ribs we had that time for example Mr. Tezza Mmmmmm :wink:

Depending on numbers, we might have to arrange to bring another portable grille, I think I can source one, but tell me if any of you also have something. A fire pit would be brilliant.
If it can fit in my Pulsar, I'm happy to pick up and bring whatever you have so you can drive your MX-5.

Most people have told me that they should be good to go mid January, so let's pencil it in for Saturday 12th..

To make things easy, we can meet up and leave from the usual place & time as per our Friday night runs.

Looking forward to getting as many of the motley crew together as it has been too many years since last we had a big gathering.

Brilliant idea!!! And I just checked, I have the 12th off!
I've got an old two burner BBQ, I have a feeling it'll fit in the boot of the five quite nicely (it has removable legs) - so I'll happily lug that along if it does. It holds a lot of snags and chops

Sounds like a plan Andrew ( those ribs were good but I have since discovered smokey bbq chicken ribs, that leaves the pork ones for dead ) Pretty sad really that I haven't had time to take the SP out for a drive in the last month or so.

cool beans. I don't want to make this sound exclusive or anything, nor do I want to keep it Secret Squirrel-like, but for those whom I haven't contacted via txt/call, please PM so we have a rough idea of numbers so Mr. Starlet and I can organise breads, lighting, tables etc.
We can also arrange the cars in some artsy positions for photo ops.

I have an unlimited supply of lighting/bbq/anything you could possibly need for a night BBQ as the 'rents are crazy campers.

The 5 has been off the road for a month now so itching to go for a drive and see how everyone is!

Preliminary plans:
- please BYO food & drinks
- So far we have four portable cooking stoves, I think that should be enough... I need a firm confirmation from those who are bringing appliances. Please check PM or txt mid next week.
- There are picnic benches and tables, but bring a portable chair anyway.
- Please check PM or txt during the week for meeting location and time.
- Those whom I haven't spoken to in the last two mountain runs, please either txt or PM me if you are keen to come.
- I will be driving a hatchback so can carry a fair bit of stuff, please PM me if you need something carried; lights, sound system, chairs, tables etc.

Did I miss anything?

Hope to see many of you next Saturday!

Just had a thought....
in case people think this is just for those who go to our mountain runs, it most certainly is not.
It's to hopefully also attract those who are not interested in our nightly runs, but would otherwise want to catch up on a non-strenuous event.
So feel free to come along one and all! newbies, oldbies, former-owners-cum-lurkers et al.

I'm quite keen for this event, so I'll invite myself! Been a while since I hung out with the MX5 crew. Unfortunately, my MX5 is still in the panel shop getting the hail damage repaired. It's taking a while but I'll have almost a brand new exterior and soft-top after everything was pock-marked from the hail.

I'll be driving a sedan, so I will have space in the trunk if anyone needs me to haul anything. I'll also bring snags and bread.

Andrew, I told you the other night that I'd probably make it, Unfortunately (or fortunately) I've picked up an overtime shift, soooo, I'll be a no show. Have a great night guys, I'll be waiting to see some pics.
