The plod and I have recently spoken and we have both come to the conclusion that my antics on the road are inappropriate :(

Sooooo, in an effort to keep what's left of my license, Crapweasel and myself are heading to Willowbank for a few runs down the 1/4 mile 30.09.09!

We're aiming to be there by 1730 (gates open for participants) racing @ 1800.

Keen? Post here!

C'mon kids!!

Be there or be somewhere else!

Thank ASE for that in depth report.
Sounds like you got it on the money with your launch.
So you would have been changing into 5th about the finish line?

R U going to Lakeside now?
Did any other SEs run?

Yup, changing into 5th just before the line...tried leaving it in 4th and bounced off the limiter and lost a few km/hr crossing the line.

I'll be heading to lakeside for sure if time and $$$ allow.

The only other SE was Crapweasel with a best of 14.7. His times were improving with each run though. I reckon there's another 0.3 to 0.5 in his car with the "perfect" launch and possibly better tyres.

Either way we had fun and definately didn't shame the 'charged MX-5 community :D

The yellow Nissan van that ran a 12.0~ would have left us all wondering where we wasted our moula if it wasn't for corners. This THING was my favourite  Watching modded HSV's and FPV's just beating our times was priceless 8)

thats a pretty good time mate. Best i have done is 13.7 at 106.5 mph (169.5kph). i think i am no good at launching. and yes drag racing is boring as sh*t. i imagine it would be fun in something that runs 10's.

I've always reckoned that if they made the finish line 20 metres along one of the exits off the straight, it would make it alot more interesting and sort the men from the boys
