Calling All Cars........(and the owners who go with them)

You are cordially invited to attend--

--Presidents’ BBQ on 18 November 2007 at Brisbane Forest Park--

Besides being a fun, social event which just so happens to have some edible delectables, this will be an opportunity for the members to bid farewell to the outgoing President, Tom Sandmann, and welcome the new President, Mark Schwertfeger.
Venue: Brisbane Forest Park, Bellbird Grove, Red Ash Picnic Area (some maps will refer to this as Camp Mountain). It is conveniently located on Nebo Road, so that people can have some fun getting there. Follow the road down to the bottom and then around to the left. (Beware of the speed bumps, though!).
Time: 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Seating: There are a few picnic tables under cover, but, better yet, there is nice, lush green grass upon which to sit. Please feel free to bring your own chairs, if you choose or a blanket upon which to sit on the grass. If you have a self-standing shade tent or portable fold-up table, you may find it beneficial to bring them along, as well.

Lunch: This will be provided by the club and will consist of sausage sandwiches, chicken kebabs, salads, and other finger food. Soft drinks, water, and fruit juices will also be provided.

RSVP: Please RSVP by Tuesday, 13th November via the membership secretary, as follows. We need to ensure that we have enough food and beverage to accommodate all who are in attendance.

Park Restrictions:

--Only a portable record, CD or cassette player powered by batteries may be used in a manner, which does not cause unreasonable noise.

--No animals of any kind are allowed in the park/permit area.

Also if you could also tell the members that the speed bumps while not high should be approached at a sensible speed…

Kindest regards

Terry

I can probably find the place without hassle, but could I ask if I could meet someone at \"that\" BP servo at The Gap so I can follow them?

It's a right hand turn on a left hand bend if that makes any sense...

The drive down the access road is fairly long as well...

It does, but I would still prefer to follow someone.
I have been up and down there dozens of times, but I hardly stop, so I don't know any landmarks or actual places of interest.

Have we arranged a meeting place for us coasters or are we making our own way there?

I might be taking the long way around :); a steep climb from Samford then left at the top to head down to Red Ash Picnic Area. Let me know if you're keen to join.

I haven't seen anything arranged so far. Ann and I will be heading up there in Snow White aiming to get there before SPy gobbles down all the sausages ( "OH- Mein Gott! Er hat alle Wurste gegessen! ...I guess, the wurst-case scenario????). To prevent this from occuring we need to be on the M1 by about 09:45 (I'm assuming it's about 1hr 15mins from Nerang).

Happy to meet at Bunnings Nerang around 09:30 and head-off at 09:45. I've never been to that picnic ground before but I think I can get us there if anyone cares to join us. As this is mainly on the M1 there and back, Snow White will have her H/T on so the BOV will arrive with hair style intact - so no need for any snide remarks tomorrow, OK?

Regards,

Sounds good - will meet you at Bunnings Nerang 9.30 and I promise no snide remarks about the h/t (until you get us to the picnic ground)
