Qld - Come and Try Night Navigation Run, Friday 16 February

Marque Sports Car Club are running the first night run for the year as a come and try.

What does this mean?

Well, if you have ever thought of giving a night run a go but you weren’t sure what to expect, this is the night for you.

The run has been set as a series of loops so you don’t go too far from the start, in case you loose your way. Each loop will be a different style of navigation to give you some idea of what you can get in other events.

Each car needs one occupant who holds a CAMS license (L2NS or above). If people are interested, we may be able to share some of the regulars around and provide some guidance. One-time licenses will be available on the night.

What do you need? All you need to have on the night is a torch, UBD, pen/pencil and something to write on. (And a sense of adventure)

Date: Friday, 16 February 2007

Time: 7.30 pm.

Cost: $10 or $22 if you need a one-time license

Where: MG Car Club Rooms, Unit 8, 16 Collinsvale Street, Rocklea.

Come and give it a go!

Thanks

The idea of travelling around at night time having to use a refedex, does not exactly thrill me.

Am I missing something here?

If you are using the Refidex, then you are lost.

I suggest you are missing a sense of humuor

I'm going to russle up a co-driver for this I think! I'm going to do some research on the CAMS licence cause I want to do some dirt sprints in DATSUN soon too. 8)

Its a niche market and someones gotta do it:)

As a failed taxi driver the words refidex, darkness and fun cannot be all used in the same sentence:)

I'm probably the wrong person to ask, I've been doing these things for 16 years and I'm still no good but I still go back

You are given instructions as in Turn right, left at T intersection etc and have to ask questions on the way. As mentioned earlier, you only use the refedex if you get lost.

If anyone is thinking of doing the classic rallies then these are the perfect stepping stone for you navigator to learn the basic skills.

It isn't everyones cup of tea but this come and try night is the perfect opportunity to give it a go. There will be 3 sections, each containing a different style of instruction and they all lead back to the start so you can't get too lost.

You probably shouldn't consider the Midnight to Dawn later in the year if you don't like the sound of this one.

Kev,

They are run on the 3rd friday of every month (except Jan & Dec) so there are plenty more to do.

That's ok, you can get one for the night. It just means you have to pay $22 instead of $10.

Have you got a person that will Nav for you?
