[QLD] - Joint Chapter run to Toowoomba, November 19th

Plan is to meet at Lake Apex at 9.30am, then head up Flagstone Creek Road (alternative Range crossing) to Preston Peak Winery for morning tea. We'll then make a clockwise circuit via Drayton and Kingsthorpe to the Meringandan Pub for lunch. This eatery has a similar reputation to the Nobby Pub. Return path for Brisbanites will have lots of choices - Hampton to Esk road, Murphy's Creek, or a range of other alternatives (no pun intended) Lunch options will be handed out with the sign on sheet at Gatton, then phoned ahead to the pub, to reduce any waiting time.

chapter leader, Darling Downs
(route was shortened after the recce run for reasons of distance, time and road condition)

Would love to be there but can't come due long lost daughter arriving on visit from OS that day. Meringandan pub used to do a great steak at lunch.

please note amended details in initial post above - shorter route means almost no single lane tarmac, less distance out of consideration for those from Brisbane or either Coast, and a more relaxed morning

just over a fortnight to go, hard to predict likely attendance, due to the run to Nobby only a couple of months ago. We're actually getting some rain tonight, so the countryside will be at its best for late spring

Feel free to send through orders earlier to

The BOV must be in a good mood tonight as she has given permission for us to attend this auspicious occassion.
...ah....when I think back to 2002 and the inaugural Gold Coast Chapter run... Look at us now!
See all youse other GCs at 07:00 at the BP Coomera.
(I'll also reply in the Club forum and insert a pic from the GC run #1 for anyone interested)
Cheers,

I can bring some car-mats along for this run if anyone wants them...these are the ones donated by Mazda Australia and are brand new and free too. Suitable for NA and NB models...not sure if they fit in a NC.
...there are two catches:
(a) they are for MX5 club members only; and,
(b) they have SE embroided on in large friendly blue letters
Let me know prior to the run on Sunday (i.e. NOT on Sunday morning)...and I'll bring a set along for the run - assuming I remember.
Cheers
