Re: Last Friday of the Month Mt Nebo/Mt Glorious Night Run
Great night guys.
Passed tow truck about to pull out a Golf GTi-R that took the term "tree hugger" too much to heart.
Managed to pick up a stray Alfa Romeo Mito tagger-a-longer.
slug dub almost had a close encounter of the turd kind with an Evo driver coming the opposite way who thought that straddling the centre line is the place to be.
Can confirm 100% there are no 80 signs at all. Pretty annoying now as 70 is quite pedestrian.

Andrew, from the description of the night you wonder why the road is now 70???
Unfortunately Idiocracy becomes closer to a documentary every day.
I hear modified shitters go up the hill, 30 minutes later I hear sirens heading up the hill. I here very expensive flat plane crank euro exotics head up the hill, I here them come down again, no sirens, says something about the owners i think.....

It's a pretty safe bet that if they were running into trees and couldn't keep on their own side of the road, ignoring a 70kmh speed limit isn't any better than ignoring an 80kmh limit, don't you think?

Re: Last Friday of the Month Mt Nebo/Mt Glorious Night Run
EVO was in middle of the road on a moderate lefty curve for it, righty for us, and appeared not to be speeding (not by much if it was). Simply a sh!t driver.
Golf came off where the road had very mild bends, relatively straight, and after a flat crest so he (2 guys no older than 25) either had a tyre blow or other failure, and/or panic swerved to avoid wildlife, and/or significantly speeding.
Besides putting speed humps, there's nothing that will stop idiots speeding.
Even after we finished when we were on a very narrow section down in The Gap (due to 1/4 of the road cut away) amongst houses and doing the signed 40 in an obvious construction zone with copious debris on the road, some sh!t heel in a 3 series BMW came blasting past doing well over 70.

In order to avoid the last...*ahem* "adventure"; We SHALL NOT divert from our usual route NO MATTER WHAT.
All we need is for a certain someone to stop trying to murder defenseless animals

It was *not* trying to murder the animals that got us into trouble...

Re: Last Friday of the Month Mt Nebo/Mt Glorious Night Run
I stand corrected...
It was the guilty conscience of aforementioned certain person regarding the fact that they could not furnish a clean and noble death to aforementioned defenseless animal.

Re: Last Friday of the Month Mt Nebo/Mt Glorious Night Run
We should probably consolidate these two threads into one "Friday Night Drive" thread and chop and change if it's the first or last Friday in the one...
Tonight though, anyone keen?
