JBT wrote:So, it seems I am designated lead. The brief is as follows chaps (all times EST):

Fuel- please arrive with a full tank.
Meet - 33 Brisbane St Beaudesert. https://goo.gl/maps/uvmMBeK6uWN2 Toilets just metres away for a final bladder defuel prior to departure. 8)
Departure time - we must depart by 0645 as another group of enthusiasts in 40+ cars will be taking the same route and will only be 30 minutes behind us. So, if you ain't there ready to depart on time.....
Route - https://goo.gl/maps/wFXccnZGZsm picking up LiteIsRite at Kyogle and ending nominally at Currumbin Surf Club. We can sort a final destination on the day.
UHF - CH 25 if you have one.

Champion mate-
Turning up between 6am to 6:30am will be the best result so as no one misses out- as JBT said we dont want to be caught behind traffic (half hour earlier wake up alarm is a good trade off for a clearer run.... have a nanny nap Sunday arvo
JBT’s knowledge of SEQ backroads (and driving skills) makes him perfect lead car- if anyone has UHF radios, bring em! (I’ll have 2 handhelds that work well if anyone needs and my spare for the day..... so looking forward to it (go on lachy, you CAN DO IT!!)

Sorry, folks, but I must now pull out due to another (late notice) commitment. :frown: I’ll try again next time.

Hey guys,
Great run today.
Nice to see some familiar faces and great to meet some new people.
Look forward to doing it all again with everyone (and more) next time around.

Thanks for the photos. Hopefully the weather held out for you guys. Next run down this way should include the Burringbar range.

The Burringbar range is one of the best pieces of road anywhere, it used to be the old highway, Isn't it covered with speed cameras these days and really low speed limits?

Thanks for a great day
Good roads (including a little bit of high speed dirt!), weather and company (and of course MX-5s!)

Had a blast today. Was great to meet you all. Thanks for the warm welcome.

Keen for the next run. I might try applying more sunscreen next time... yikes.

I still feel like I'm getting acquainted with my car, so was great to follow some people who know what our cars a capable of. My car's limit is WAY higher than my skill level can exploit. Looking forward to closing that gap in the future :D
