Re: FIRST Friday of the month Mt. Nebo/Glorious run
Part of the reason my deck is so big was to fit as many cars as possible underneath. If it wasn't for Council height restrictions I would have gone 3 bays wide and not the two I have now......

I miss these runs. Having a 4 week roster means once I've rotated to lates on the first friday of the month, I stay there for like 6 months

Re: FIRST Friday of the month Mt. Nebo/Glorious run
i went up today with my step son and was stuck half way up Mt glorious road for 30min by ambulance ,police rescue...a motor bike was off side of the road and the rider on the other.
sort of dulled the feeling you get going up there ....but just until we reached the l/h turn to Nebo at the top

I keep forgetting about this.
Finally subscribed to the thread so I have a better chance of remembering.

Yeah, tend to avoid it on the weekends because of this sort of stuff - had to help an older couple a couple of years ago, a car had pulled out in front of them and the older bloke had dropped the bike trying to avoid the car (on the Samford climb, IIRC). They weren't too bad (well set up with proper gear) but suspect she'd cracked a couple of ribs.
That wasn't their fault but there are plenty of bikes dropped through there - 44 injury accidents through 2013, doubled in that twelve month period. 70% of accidents through there have involved motorbikes.
It reminds me of the issues Marysville faced after the rebuilding of the infamous Black Spur from Healesville - despite the road being made much safer, the accident rate went up because of the motorbike fraternity. It is a source of considerable frustration to the local community - they had to endure a lengthy diversion through the years the work took, and because some clown thinks he's Mick Doohan and drops it they lose a couple of hours trying to get to the shops.

I'd love to come too, but Fridays just don't work for me, nor any weeknight actually. I'd be interested in an impromptu run.
