Postby Steampunk » Sat Mar 17, 2012 10:51 pm

Meeting point: Supercheap, corner of Logan & Lexington, Underwood.
Time: 1800hrs, for a 1830hrs depart.

We'll head down the M1, turn-off at Oxenford, go along Tamborine-Oxenford Rd and stop for a breather at Canungra before heading up Lamington National Park Rd.

Anyone coming from the Gold Coast can either meet us somewhere near the Oxenford exit, or at Canungra, corner of Christie & Finch.

After a brief stop at O'Reilly's we'll head to Mt. Tamborine for coffess'n'lies at The Gallery Walk.

I'll be there unless I'm in hospital. My team is doing a 45km walk on Saturday to train for the Oxfam Trailwalker event.

If the weather turns against us again, I now have a Plan B;
Let's head up to Mt.Gravatt Lookout for coffees'n'lies at the new Echidna Magic restaurant. Saturday is the only day they open past 1700hrs.

Definitely doing that again! Roads were a bit bumpy, and they're still narrow, but there were no potholes.
IMO it was far safer at night for two reasons;
- lack of traffic, as we passed only 3 cars on our way up, and 1 on our way down
- you can see headlights of approaching cars reflected off trees around blind corners

We also found a nice-looking restaurant at the bottom, although we didn't stop by, so we have another choice for coffees.
