Yes, I bought another one. I figured I would buy an NA6 while they are still affordable. The plan is to keep this car standard, or return what isn't back to Oem. I don't mind swapping to easy bolt on bits like wheels or a fastback when the mood strikes me. If someone has some Daisy wheels let me know, as I would love to make this look as original as possible. It's a Eunos, so has A/C, P/S, P/W, etc. The car is pretty good for a 27 year old MX5. I will look at giving it a full respray one day to make it look very tidy, and throw it on club reg when I get time.

Looks in great shape. Wonder how difficult it would be to get the OEM stereo & CD in working order these days.

Even I'd love to own a stock 1.6 NA, after borrowing a friend's over one Xmas period I loved the way the little thing revved and it was a hoot to drive - alas money and space make this a just a dream.
IMO, well-kept stock NA 1.6s will be the collector's preferred MX-5.

Was this by any chance purchased from a dealer down at Frankston?

No, it was from up north east. Doreen I think. It was yesterday, it's hard to remember that far back. I picked up a 205 GTI Dimma today, and will bring home the Commodore race car tomorrow. The garage is going to get a bit busy.

Re: Lightyears NA6 resto car
Sorry, a few things looked familiar (interior wise). Anyway keen to see how it turns out.
Please post some pics/link of the 205. I would watch Wide World of Sports on the weekends when I was a kid to see them cars flying over the crests, narrowly missing brain dead spectators who would try to touch the cars like they were Jesus walking through a crowd of beggars.
The first F1 in Melbourne (or maybe 2nd) I was walking over to the classic car area when I spotted a Renault 5 Turbo and we made a bee-line straight for it. I think we made the owners day. He had been standing quietly by his car as everyone else were more interested it the big yank tanks. He was more than happy to tell us all about it and show it off.

But it's so effin-ugly - looks like it was designed in some soviet-era backwater for the peasants!

That Renault R5 Turbo II is a very unique car. It is wider than it is long. LOL
From what I know there is only a handful of them in Australia. Most of them would also be in various state of disrepair...and therefore unregistered.
