Hi, my name is Dan and I am a member of the NSW mx5 club.
I’m a little late but I thought I would introduce myself and my blue 1999 NB8a.
I purchased the car about 18 months ago to use as a track car and am thoroughly enjoying my mx5 ownership experience. I have only been to a few club track days so far (not as many as I have wanted to), however my schedule is a lot clearer now and I am very keen to get back into it. I have had an absolute blast each one and can’t wait for my next time out on the track.
My car was and is completely stock aside from the roll bar I had installed and a set of hawk pads for the front I put on. I try and do what I can on the car however with my minimal mechanical knowledge I quickly find my limits haha….
I am keen to learn about becoming a faster driver and also increasing my mechanical skills.
Current plans for the car are to install a race seat and harness and get better tyres. Also my clutch is on its way out so I will need to be replacing that sometime soon. Then once my driving skills get better look at further modifications!! Sorry if this garage thread is not that exciting till then!
Look forward to meeting and chatting with you all and hopefully see you at the next club track day at SMSP South in April.
Cheers
Dan
