I've been on here for a couple of years but never introduced myself or my cars.
Since a young age i always wanted a sports car,
Started with dad telling me the stories about the cars he had when he was young, Mini's, MG's, Alfa's.
All the good and the bad of these cars fascinated me.
So when the time came to getting my L's, i thought i would end up with a Mini or a kombi, just something with character.
But no i got a Toyota Camry Wagon, reliable and boring it served me well, being a Muso it could carry the band and the gear.
Many roadtrips were had and i kept it for the next 6 years.
I then stopped touring with the band, got a different job, And the car i've always wanted.
Signed the papers for my new job on the Friday, put a deposit on the Mx5 on the Sunday.
I'd been looking at the market for the last year and it was just what i wanted a NA8C in BRG.
Factory hardtop and 74' 000k's on the car i couldn't pass it up.

Some pics of them.
Bought the white NA6 as a bit of a project, it had some front end damage.
only needed a new bumper, indicators, headlight unit.
And will get a new bonnet down the track as it's got a crease in it.
The idea was to tidy it up as a nice daily drive.
Then three 15x6.5 Watanabes came up for sale and i couldn't resist. the forth wheel is silver and will be painted to match.

You're kidding me!
I'm currently on way way to selling my NA6 to get an NA8 BRG and build it to look almost exactly like this DOWN TO THE RIMS!
Oh well, lets see how it goes

Took the seats out,
To Fit my mazdaspeed seat, It really is made for the smaller build, Fine for me and it has plenty of support.
Would like to be able to quickly change back to the standard seat for comfort sometimes.
So if anyone has some spare NA seat rails, i'm currently looking for some.

I have a pair of sliding rails in the shed which I don't need. Where are you?

Looks awesome, mate. You're starting with something that's clearly already had a tasteful owner. Gotta love the Mazdaspeed seats too, if you're small enough to fit in one.

This is how the NA8 looked when i picked it up.
Stock apart from roll bar and wheels.
And the NA6 project
The mazdaspeed seat fits me so well, but Definitely made for the slight build.
I've already had a kind offer of some standard NA rails.
The Standard rails are a direct fit for seat, but will require spacers so the rails don't rub on the seat.
I'm figuring it out as i go, for the best way to mount the seat.
At the moment the spring for the rail gets in the way of the seat.
So if anyone has past experience with the mazdaspeed it would help.
I may well be interested in the bride rails.
Cheers.

<Edited: reread the above post>
I can take some photos of how mine is mounted if you like. It uses some spacers that fortunately I got with the seat.

That would be great Thanks Paul, mine came with no spacers so i need to work something out myself.
Have you got a rough idea of the height of the spacers, And hows the height with them?
Cheers Matt.

Tried the seat out in the white car for the week.
Just went to put it in the NA8.
and the seat belt mount is on the seat, different to the NA6 where it's mounted on the trans tunnel.
So now i'm after a NA6 drivers side seat belt stork.
If anyone has one laying around they'd like to part with, let us know.
Cheers.
