So I bought this around 18 months ago. Wanted to get off the sportsbike before I hurt myself or lost my license!
Mx5 sounded good for both me and my wife to enjoy both on the street and track.
After it's first wash after picking it up
I have two goals of this thread. One so ppl can get ideas etc and so I can keep track of everything I've done!

When I bought the car it had the usual browning radiator so that was binned for a aluminum 42mm job that bolted straight into place, I replaced the hoses with silicone ones while I was at it. Put some hawk brake pads in and headed to Wakefield with the family.
My brother in law had an fd rx7 at the time, father in law had a VE SS and two friends tagged along in a type r civic and an evo6.
Besides being left for dead down the straight the little mx5 really gave it to them around the top of the track even in stock form. The car was an absolute blast. Although the car is much faster around the track than back then I reckon it was way more fun. The bug had truly bitten

Went back to Wakefield this time with the mx5 club, if just fired new wheels with ku31s. 2nd session out and one of the tyres failed at turn 3 and put me into the dirt and Destroyed my front lip in the process.
It wouldn't hurt wakefield park to do something about the ditch that's more like a moat that runs around alot of the track.
What the tyre looked like

After the tyre fiasco I bought another set of og banzai's with a used set of nt01's on them. A time attack meet was on at marulan so me and few mates headed Duran and did pretty well. I won my class.

Fitted a bunch 2nd hand exhaust pieces I picked up from the forum for 200 bucks and fitted a hi flow 200cell cat. I took it to a reputable exhaust shop and specified stainless piping to complete the midpipe to the new rear muffler I had. They used press bent mild steel!
Took the car to South circuit the following week and clocked a best of 1.06.20.

I like the look of the number on the window!
