A recently MX5 converted owner

Postby FunkyAnchovies » Wed Oct 22, 2014 12:33 pm

Hey forum members!

I recently bought a 1999 NB8A which had nothing wrong except for the soft-top!
Even came with seats redone by Blackmans, so I'm beyond stoked.

My mate has a 91 BRG NA6 which made me realise how ridiculously fun these cars are, and the smiles per km ratio is even better.
Roadworthy is booked in for this Friday so hopefully I should have in my possession soon!
In the mean time here are the pics which help me keep my sanity whilst I wait for the car!

In the mean time I'm wondering if there's any local meets around Melbourne that occur on a regular basis? I've skimmed through the Events etc page and found a few interesting things.
I'm new to the forums so I'm sure i'm missing something but it could probably be found with the search function haha...

Sir Fred will suffice, Mr Anchovies...
Don't worry about getting your car sorted, just come on down to Garage Cafe and say hello.
Meanmx has got a mx5 that has been on stands for about 3 years now. But he still comes down.
Have a cheap feed, or a coffee, or even a brew or two.
We are a friendly bunch....mostly.

Unfortunately I can't make this Thursday, but I'll probably be good from next week onwards. Is it 7:30 normally or does it vary every week? The thread you linked me in the earlier post more or less confused me haha

It can be confusing for the uninitiated.
We really do that to keep SP owners and Queenslanders from gate crashing our party.....

Just read the last (latest) page of that thread. It will have meet up times.
Otherwise, just post a "Is anyone coming this week" in that thread.
Someone will answer.....

I resent that. It has only been about 2 and a half years.

some would argue that a car on stands is as fun as a car that's on wheels though LoL

Nice work FA, welcome to the obsession.
Greg.
When you turn your car on, does it return the favour?
