Well I bought my wife a 2000 model MX5 for Christmas. She had to sell her last one due to being 8 1/2 months pregnant and not being able to physically drive it. Long story short she was distraught about having to sell her baby. So I found one for a good price.
I never bothered doing anything with the old one because I have my mk1 Escort for those duties but seeing as they are so much fun I thought I better do something with this one.

Well first mod will be to install the 24mm Whiteline bar I picked up off of Steampunk.
Hopefully have it registered early next week. Some pics soon.

Don't know what happened to it but the car is still around
99 Twilight Blue was the first baby. This one is green (car) and now clean. I spent the first day pulling everything out of it including to front guard bottoms and cleaned all the drains.
Polishing and waxing this weekend along with new tappet cover gasket, engine under tray and other bits.
Just need some suspension and wheels and intake and exhaust..........
Will be off the see John Krash for some advice.

I got a set of 16" off my NB8B, someone is coming for inspection on this Sunday. If he is not into those wheels I will let you know.

Little update, picked up a new under engine tray and tappet cover gasket. I will endeavour to get these done tomorrow as well as the sway bar. It should be registered next week now.
I did also happen to purchase a complied rotary escort mk1 with all the bits but that's another story.

So not much doing today so I tackled the sway, tappet cover gasket and engine under tray.
The white line sway bar only took about 15mins to do. Then the tappet cover.
After I had removed the tappet cover and cleaned up I tried to fit the new gasket which I had to order from my local Mazda dealer. Anyways it was the wrong gasket, I ordered the correct gasket along with new under tray. I even quizzed him when it had B6 on the pakaging, he told me its the correct one. So I got the s$its when I realized this after it was pulled apart but it was 1230 and to late to go back and have a polite discussion with him.
Ended up going to repco and getting one, all done but tomorrow I will have to look for some nuts and bolts for under tray, mine were not there.

Undertray all done today along with a quick bath and hopefully rego tomorrow.

Well the car is finally registered, but the radiator has a slight leak. Will hit ebay for a new one unless anyone else has some good ideas?
Took it for a strap this arvo and the new sway bar goes well, unfortunately I have a splish splash from the dash. I vaguely remember something like that in my last one. I will check the forums.

Well i have been doing the 100klm round trip to work this week to shake down the 5.
Radiator has very slight leak in top tank. Thanks to ebay, it arrived today.
I went to a local mechanic/compliance plate this afternoon in it to try get an anchor point put in for my young boy. Now he has directed me to an engineering mob to get one "engineered".
Oh well small price to pay for some fun with the little one.
As I got in my car to leave, it wouldn't start, right outside the shop So I went in and asked him for some water (I didn't want to pee on the crank angle sensor) and poured it over the sensor and she fired first time. So I quick call to mx5 Plus and I have a new sensor on the way as well as gear box boots. But there may be a delay in shipping from Melbourne due to all the softies being to hot in the warehouse to work.
I guess I should probably get some new hoses to. Any one run the silicon hoses?

Are there a couple of child seat anchor points behind the passenger seat already?

Yeah I did find that one under the tape. I was thinking of using that one. I will have to check if it's 5/16 thread. Has anyone else used that particular one?
