Well, the obsession starts here.

Finally turned a dream into reality and purchased a lovely Red 2006 NC (Semi-auto).

I've got big plans for the little MX5, and i'm going to (hopefully) log each step on here with a few pictures.

Short term plans:
YSR Coilovers (Received them today, 2nd Oct, so hopefully fitting them this weekend/ next weekend)
    Front & rear sway bars
ECU Tuneup/Reflash (Have to check the legality of this one in Victoria)
Head-unit swap-out for custom iPad mini mount (with some form of DSP)

Long term:
    Wheels & breaks
Exhaust & intake (and another reflash)
    HID's
Bosectomy (Including speakers & amp, swapped to aftermarket)

The idea behind my MX5 is to have a fun car, something that makes me smile every time I drive it (as it has done so far) and loves being thrown round corners!

Welcome to the addiction.

I had my NC for 5 months and I've bought something substantial each month ><

I'd be very interested to see yor your iPod mini mount goes. Bose system is a major jack up the arse. I had major issues with my aftermarket HU.

Any pictures of her?

Well, I guess it's time to post a few updates;

October/November 2013

Received my new coil overs! Woo!

Time to rip the standard suspension out and upgrade!

November 2013

Received my new brakes in the mail :D
Slotted & drilled for front & back, some red-stuff brake pads, and stainless steel brake hoses!

Unfortunately I won't have a chance to fit them till December '13.

After the fun I had with plasti-dipping the logo's, I decided to be a little more adventurous, doing some bonnet and wheel work:

And the bonnet:

I'm loving the car, except the boot is a little small :P

December 2013

Off with the old, and on with the new, it's brake time!

I will definitely be doing a flying conversion when scientists invent hover cars :P

Cleaned, fitted and ready to go! (Plus red calipers for the extra 25kw's :P :P :P )

January 2014 (Progress so far)

I've officially started on the head-unit now, instead of an iPad mini, I'll be using a Nexus 7 simply because I can customize it to fit the car, and I can run Torque for onboard-indash OBD.

So far I've removed the head unit:

And put together a small theme for the nexus 7:

Next is just finishing up the DC-DC convertor, usb hub & Audio DAC plate, then mounting it in the car :D

Yes, I will be watching this closely from the Nexus perspective, bought mine this morning and hoping to do much the same as yourself

Looking fantastic Scott, red and black really works, can't wait to see the tablet install as well. I recently replaced the whole bose system in my NC (see garage thread in sig), and was thinking of adding a small tablet or a large phone mounted above the hardtop switches as well, so I'm looking forward to reading how it works out for you.
