James' NC

Hey!

It's been almost 2 years since I sold my NB8B, but I finally came to my senses yesterday, and bought another MX5! :D

I wasn't planning to buy one for another few months, but when I saw this, I couldn't resist.
It's a 2006 soft top, with only 15,000km! The previous owner seemingly only drove it when it needed servicing.
It's almost exactly as it rolled off the showroom floor, with the only exception being a Mille Miglia muffler.

Firstly, I really need to buy a decent car cover, and possibly a car bra for longer drives.
Has anyone had experience with CoverCraft covers?

I'm really looking forward to attending some of the upcoming events!

Cheers,
James

What a score!!

Welcome back! She's looking Mint!

I'd be quite interested in the covercraft car covers as my car is parked outside 70% of the time.

Any plans with her?

Thanks guys!

I ordered a grey WeatherShield HP, which will hopefully arrive in the next 10 or so days.
I'll reply back here in regards to the fit & quality when I receive it.

My plan for the remainder of the year is to just try to keep it in the same condition as it is now, and enjoy it.
I'll hopefully learn a bit about car care tomorrow, which will help.

Early next year, however, I have a few plans. :D

Firstly I'd like to sort of the suspension, as I've found it to be too soft, with excessive body roll, a problem I'd expected.

So far the list includes:

Adjustable shocks- Tokico or Koni. Koni seems to be the better shock, but the Tokico has the adjustment cables for the rear.. I haven't decided.
Lowered Springs - Probably Eibach
Anti-sway bars - ??

After watching Neil's Putty Road Run on YouTube, I've also got my heart set on a full roadster sport exhaust. :D

I noticed that Bryan Goodwin doesn't ship to Australia any more! :(
Go-Miata sells most of what I need, but I'm a bit tentative to buy from them after reading a few bad reviews.

Are people on here using package forwarding from Goodwin, or another company all together?

Sway bars will solve the excessive body roll. I have Whiteline and can highly recommend them.
I am yet to change to change shocks but be careful how low you want to go. According to GWR KONI give and extra 10-12mm of lowering.

I purchased the Progress Springs from GWR and they are substantial improvement over the factory springs.
I don't know if anyone else in OZ is using them but they are not substantially lower but removed the reverse rake that I had on my 2006.
Approx 12-15mm lower overall. If I decide I want to go lower then I can add KONI's later.

I also have the GWR RoadsterSport Header and "Q" Muffler and also highly recommend them, you will love the sound and extra performance.

I'm have a MX-5 plus exhaust with Ohlins. Ohlins are amazing but they will cost $$

I think if your looking to ship from GWR, you'll need to get Brian to forward to a shipping company and you organise shipping from there on in.
