Misa; mloo's lady miata
Hai guyss
This is my first build thread on here, and my first car. I have been a long time lurker; checkin' build threads, picture threads and wheels threads.
In the past, I considered many different options for my first car, namely those that were of the rwd and naturally aspirated criteria.
Was tossing up between s13's, na r34's, mr2's, and non-rwd cars such as impreza's and dem civics.
After getting my p's; one thing my mates and I always liked was "spirited driving,"
However I was using my dad's '10 fd civic.
Unfortunately for me, on my first mountain run. I totalled my dad's car. Fortunately I wasn't burnt at the stake and turned into dim_sims. Instead I concentrated on getting a 2nd job to help fun my OWN car and going on even more mountain runs.
I looked long and hard; my search was narrowed down to two cars; the SW20 MR2 and the NA miata. DAT throw-around-ability and rwd'ness.
#imaginaryloveofdori
I got my second job and after I had accumulated nearly over 9,000 years of searching on carsales I eventually found a good looking mx5 in the western suburbs owned by an elderly couple.
Gave the good ol' guy a call, no response, left a message. Heart broken and poor.
However I received a call back while I was working le groin muscles.
I set up an appointment and sooner than I knew it, left a deposit and BAMMM.
Positives:
- low kms
- elderly couple owners, highly doubtful that they hooned like tokyo drift
- free hard-top
- free set of rims
- somewhat low price (?)
Downsides (fml moments)
- the elderly couple owned a dog, shed hair like no tomorrow
- faded panels
- stank like someone or something took two dumps in my car..daily..
- ripped gear boot
- low to no a/c coming out
- hail dmg
And from then on I had a faithful lady, named Misa, who'd I be able to ride HER stick, all day erry day.
The moment I had some spare time, I called a mate over who was very mechanically minded to help me take out me seats and clean my bitch out!
NOTE: She was so dirty, I wouldn't sit on the seats unless there were plastic bags on them FIRST!

The plan was to clean the seats, MCM style and use the Rug Doctor Phd specialist in sucking out human sh*t from the interior.
I wiped down the car only to sh*t another brick because I rubbed off some amoural on my leather.
#doghairerrywhere
After cleaning the passenger side, the drivers side still dirty as fargh
I always like getting dirty and being on top.
Back together again, all clean and squeaky

Back to the shift boot, I went for a drive during an abnormally hot day, only to find that my broken shift boot was leaking hot air into an already stuffy car.
Being the hero that I am not, I decided to fix it myself. Old lady stylez, needle and thread.
Stabbed my thumb at least 3 times, strong dexterity. But end result. NOT BAHD

We picked up supplies and decided to get work by removing the front bumper..
Much to our surprise, you must first removing one bajillion parts before you can actually take out the front bumper. Well at least that's what google told us..
We decided it would be better to just sand/prime/spray while it was on the car!
Being me [a gook/azn/rice eater (hater terms)]
Unfortunately couldn't find a pic of a final product..

Just a funny picture I took because I are amateur photographer!
Found this newb @ a kfc in north-side.
But in other news, this is the most recent. Just finished doing these mods this arvo!
All done!
My cousin came around and we switched the RodneyJane rims out and put on le stockies that the elderly couple passed to me.
White tyre paint because.. racecar. (but not rly)
We did all this while, tomloo and I suffered in this heat level that reached like over 9,000(?) or.. 41degrees. But still hot.
Will update as more mods go down!

Re: Misa; mloo's lady miata
My mate came around to help me tint my windows, turned out pree gewd for back-yard special ;)
Now I can sit in my car and not burn as much!
Also finished up my white tyre paint, because WTAC spec.
NOTE: We only tinted the main side window, we left the triangular_pyramid_extra_window untinted just for DAT comparison, bitchez love DAT comparisons.

Took Misa for her first service under ownership of Lord mloo (loljks) @ 1sixtyninethousand733 original kilometeres; got filter changed, all da liquids/oils topp'd up and fixed my blocked washer jets.
Kudos to my great mechanic mate, Gihan the g.unit.omgash.sxcboi!
Not sure if felt smoother or placebo effect but she's all golden now babyyyy

Re: Misa; mloo's lady miata
Bored shitless one day, and pulled my finger out of my butt, decided that I needed a DIN pocket because the previous plastic (piece of sh*t) wall thingy wasn't providing much storage space.
You can see it under my headunit, also some stupid little hole.. 2.5 DIN spacers, shaking my head..
Went out to pick up some generic DIN pocket for $20 (farking expensive as) and some protectant wipes (does anyone else think theses smell great? Could get high of that sh*t, but I won't because I'm a good boy..).
Also as you can see, the hazards and pop-up light buttons aren't sitting flush.
Good 'ol Nike shoe laces - tools of the trade.
Got one of the little buggers out.
Didn't find out why the buttons were somewhat sunk into the dash.. until I actually took out the tombstone. Only to find out this is the condition of the tombstone.

Re: Misa; mloo's lady miata
Got my new tombstone from mx5 plus, great guys and quick shipping, would definitelyrecommend/10.
It's been a while since I bought this, but only recently went out installing it!
But I had to wait for my new tombstone to arrive firsto
From $118 to I think $84? Idk I needed my own music, been too long living off my random CD's.
Auxiliary and iPod connectivity come @ me.
Rippin out the old sh*t
And chucking it aside
Continuing the relatively big update:
I haz A/c finally. With all these hot weather and heat waves definitely needed it.
Of course being a 23 year old car. Replacing A/C was not without it's problems.
Thought it would just be a regas, took it to the place; only to find out that there's a huge blockages of somesort. Needed to get a replacement Tx valve or so I was told.
Waited a good 2 weeks for the part to arrive in. Sent the car in for round 2.
BOOM! Cold air come at my face pls.
$250 bucks down, but totes worth it. Now I can smile in the boiling weather

Re: Misa; mloo's lady miata
Well I haven't updated this in a good while, so here goes:
The car is still running well, been driving up my normal route every so often!
Just some happy snaps of the car
Horrible feeling when butt-heads feel like merging on top of you, even when you honk them..
Not so happy pic, are these birds bulking or something?

Took Misa up to Kinglake for a university camp. A boot full of gassy drinks? No worries m8
Photoshoot (me) time - PIC heavy..

What do you do when you have super glue, a spare badge and a car?
Put on INTERIOR badges!
Came out slightly wonky, but doesn't matter, passengers will be holding on for dear life anyways..
Gave her a wash, looking a bit better now
Definitely need to respray the back..

I bought her some new shoes!
I finally have SOME dish, and the low offset definitely gives her more poke.
Picked these bad boys without breaking the bank. Only slightly damaging it
Somewhat more flush!
Stancewerkzzz, cum @ me
All gewd, in da hood
Went for a night time run up Mt Akina (lols) to try out the new tyres. Much better than my bald eagles. No traction loss!
Heaps of wheel gap though.. unfortunately..

Slightly confused reading that. Reading about hot summer days and then looking at date on post and seeing July????....wtf. Anyway car looks good with the new wheels and some of the photos and locations are great. Have you been to the Thursday night meet yet? Whole heap of info from people that have been where you are including myself. Keep at it.
