MEANMX2
A few of you guys may remember me but alot probably won't. I sold my last MX5 3.5 years ago because of the birth of my gorgeous girl and because my wife said I can only have 1 vehicle at a time. It was a red 1990 NA6 with a couple of mods and a gobble gobble noise . Below is picture from the MX Fed square car show to bring back memories.
Now I am allowed to have 2 vehicles so I am back in an MX. I bought it from Willstar on this forum and couldn't be happier. I was really wanting an SE but with a budget of $12000 I couldn't quite squeeze it in.
Then I thought I would get a clubman and was about to check one out when I saw this one. The look just seemed right to me and I'm a sucker for a black car so with help from fastfreddygassit we paid a visit to Willstar. The buying process was very easy and pleasant and now I'm the owner of this beauty.
So these are it's specs at the moment:
2001 NB8B
SE Black & Red Leather Interior in near perfect condition
Manual
Black
159xxx Kms
Near new 35% Tint
Exedy clutch done < 2000kms ago
Lenso light weight 17+20s with brand new Kumho KU39s
Stainless Cat Back Exhaust < 2000kms old
K&N Cold side intake
Front bushes done < 2000kms ago
Eibach springs on OEM struts (25mm lower than stock)
Miata Roadster short shifter
RS Factory Stage front lip
OEM Side Skirts
Clear markers & indicators
Zoom Retro fuel lid
Beatrush red tow hooks
Polished stainless style bar
Mazdaspeed Aluminium Pedals
Freshly sprayed front bar
Aluminium vent rings
Black RS Products classic style meter cluster plate & bezels
Offset number plate bracket
Zeromotive Black with Red Stitching leather handbrake & shifter boots
Stainless side sills
Garage Vary Eye Lids
Knowing myself the mods will keep coming because I have well and truly caught the bug. First though I need to get it roadworthy and then I will need to fit the stereo I have already bought . I also cant seem to pull myself away from the supercharger pages
Hope you will enjoy reading about it as much as I enjoy doing it.

Please send timk an e-mail regarding his thoughts on this - he's had a SC NB before and several TC NBs so will have some "real-world" input on this.
Note that there are MX5 owners who've upgrade their car's SC to a TC but I'm unaware or any that switched permanently from a TC to a SC MX5.
Don't worry about dying, worry about not living!

I wouldn't bother with a super charger. Turbo is free power.

Welcome black!
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Re: MEANMX2
Welcome back Ben.
I agree with all the above, do NOT sc your car.
In fact, don't even turbo it.
Go the full na route
To those that don't know meanmx's dedication and anal attention to detail, rest assured he will
do a sh!t hot job of whatever FI route he goes down.
His turbo NA6 was fully engineered in Victoria (no mean feat) and since then he has had (I think) 3 turbo cars
in the last 3.5 years.
The last one was a FG XR6T that was modified to produce a dyno confirmed 460rwkw (IIRC) on E85.
I had the pleasure of a drive in that car and it was superbike fast.
so please PLEASE stop encouraging him to go turbo. At the moment my car is just a bit quicker than his.
(Just like my Harley was quicker than his Ducati )
Let me savour the moment for a while
meanmx (left)..................................................FFG (right) mine is the faster black colour
