RE THE BLUE TRIANGLE

For track days does the blue battery triangle point inwards, i.e.towards the boot lid or downwards, i.e towards the wheel arch?
I am an inwards man myself but will stand corrected.

I put mine on the boot lid and point it outwards.

Put it at a slight angle and drive the scrutineers with OCD crazy.

Schedule B: Line 16. shall display a blue triangle of sides 150mm indicating the location of the battery.
Nothing said about which way it has to point.

find out who they are and I'll get my mate to alternate from an isosceles, scalene and acute each meet..... or after every run.

Whichever orientation you use (I prefer pointing upwards), it's a good idea to put it on the side of the rear quarter panel, rather than on the top. Fire marshalls will be looking for the triangle when they rush to a crashed car, and they're more likely to see it from a distance if it's on the side (particualarly if the car has rolled and is on it's roof!). Of course, this advice applies to NA & NB owners only, as NCs have the battery in the engine bay. :)

Given it's meant to be an equilateral triangle, not sure how you can tell which way it's pointing. :roll:

The blue triangle lets the CRASH CREW know where to find the battery, but being an ex scrutineer we just made sure the triangle was in the right place. the triangle is there to help save a car from more damage.

Why on the boot? Magnetic P plate cut up likes the flat boot lid more than the curved side panel.

i have a p-plate one - it likes the side fine.

The triangles are null and void if you don't have a key in the boot so they can unlock it.

Not Really that stupid... I know I'd want my battery disconnected in an accident. Particularly if I was trapped in the car for a while.

The alternative is a killer switch but... Some people like to run up to your car and take them out at the lights :grin:

It's actually not a rule, Just common sence to have a key with a wire rope going to it so (1) you can't lose it and (2) so they can open the boot!!!!

A kill switch won't kill the battery, only the ignition circuit, re shut down the motor.
