mx5 newbie help

Postby narita » Wed Jan 09, 2013 10:58 pm

Hi,

I recently purchased a 01 na6 mx5 and have a few questions which other websites havent been provide any infomation.

Which models come with sunroofs?

Where can i fimd the headlight switch? ( i brought a manual online for my car but cannot find the button)

Is it safe to rev these cars to 5.5 because when i did that by accident it was acting strange.

Thanks in advance!

Ok. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and actually believe you that you're a newbie to MX5 and not actually a troll. There’s nothing wrong in being a newbie and asking questions. I was one once. But we hate trolls.

With that in mind, here are some answers to your questions:

1. 01 model MX5's are not called NA6. So do you have a ’91 NA6 or a ’01 NB8B MX5?

2. No MX5's that I'm aware of came with sunroofs. It's a convertible. The factory hardtop didn't come with a sunroof. Unless you saw/read/been told of an aftermarket hardtop which I've seen from the US.

3. The light switch is where it is on most Japanese cars are located, the right hand stalk located behind the steering wheel.

4. Hell yeah! Unless your engine has some problems. Redline is just over 7000rpm but it also depends if you have a NA6 or NB8B (and some JDM NA6 models might be a bit different). So in theory, it should be able to run close to that mark all day long.

I hope that helped and welcome to the forum.

Maybe a photo would help? I'm pretty sure most of us can tell the model number by just a 3/4 shot.

Re: sunroof... Hammer, do you think there's a chance our guest here is talking about the mx6?...

Lol, considering that he has a garage thread I would suggest that he's having a laugh.
