Was sick of watching the other guys having a good time doing the 300k. races at Winton and Wakefield so decided it was time to have a go, didn't want to run the green machine cause the engine cost me a fortune and I don't really want to wear it out too quickly so time to build another car.
Was going to be a NB8B with basically stock running gear, loose a bit of weight, will still go OK, flog the life out of it and if something goes wrong no big deal.
Along came this little gem on eBay, didn't really know what condition it was in, had no engine or gearbox but that was fine, can even be registered, the guy was going to fit a SR 20 but it all got too hard, picked it up and it's a ripper.
Then came the plan...I have a full NB8B loom with ABS, SVT engine, 5 speed, 4.1 welded diff, NA8 brakes, Tein Flex all just sitting in the shed, so it's all getting bolted in to the NA6, perfect platform being so light, full roll cage will help sort out the chassis stiffness issues....
So have just over 2 months to get it caged and built ready for the Wakefield 300.
Co-driver is Owen Boak from Victoria, with help from Elements Restorations and Hume Smash Repairs.
I am also planning to make the car available to be rented for any type of event.
