I decided to replace the OEM halogen headlights with something better. I always liked the Cibie headlights so a pair was bought via eBay.
These lights are made by Valeo which is parent company I think in France but lights actually manufactured in Belgium. Part no is 82441. These lights have a curved lends vs the oem one which is flat. However there is plenty of room for new headlight thing.
I post some pics of the steps I did take to deinstall / install the lights.
First I raise the lights and removing the screws 4 x which hold the protection cover
Then to remove 4 x 8mm nuts which hold the top cover of light
exposing back of light remove plug by pressing release tabs on the plug and pulling gently backwards
here we have light exposed and retaining ring screws of 3. These are loosed off until ring may be rotated. I did use a fine bladed driver to gently free ring from light as age had made it weary and unwilling to move
here is empty eye socket ready for new sight ! The holder has 3 indents to locate tabs on rear of headlight, so it it is not embarrassingly mounted upside down, or even sideways !
Then I did install the new Cibie and reversed the above steps. Next I need to align them, against garage door at night or a headlight aimer would be better.
