Hey guys, fairly new to the forum,
owned mazdas all my life but usually of the wankel variety.
Was looking for a clean NA for a while but couldnt bring myself to pay 10k for such and old car so ended up with an NB8C and i love it!
Shes black, came with fully sick 18's, standard exterior (besides the birdshit and tree sap) and tiny rip in roof (suspected stab) standard interior bar the cd player ad fully sick chrome gearknob.
Bought her in late october, first weekend she was washed, claybarred, polished, cleaned.

Modification #1: removed orange reflectors, smoothed and colour coded
Modification #2: removed blown front speakers and replaced with response 6inch
Modification #3: removed fully sick chrome gearknob and replaced with standard leather one (thanks boyracer)
Modification #4: removed chatty grey universal floor mats and replaced with genuine ones (thanks boyracer)
Modification #5: removed fully sick 18 inch wheels and replaced with SP 17inch racing harts (thanks hjt)
Modification #6: wheel alignment done at spinning wheel tyres (getting that done today)
Modification #7: roof tear repaired by vinyl specialist (getting done today)

its now the second weekend of owning the car.... i think the modification bug has bitten already

pics from the start coming later this weekend

Looking forward to the pictures, the wheels are from the limited edition SE range the SP didn't get any fancy wheels unfortunately. Keep the dairy coming!

im used to the SP being the special editon (rotary boy) lol
thanks for the correction. and thanks for the wheels! drives soooo much better that the 18s.

next mods planned:
machine brake disks (or replace depending on condition)
red wheel nuts for a bit of bling factor
cold air intake and filter
coilovers
exhaust (undecided)
some leather bits inside
and eventually some guard rolling, 0 offset wheels and stretched tyres

The design of those 18s made them look even bigger! Looks nice with the new wheels, really like the black on a mx5.

Hey dude, you got this for around 10K, unbelievable. I guess the 18" wheels must have knocked 3K off.
They would look good on a focus turbo but just silly on the 5.

over the weekend i fixed the drooping eyeball vents, did a quick google search. was quite a simple job, a credit card, some cloth tape, and 5 minutes later it was fixed

So the past few weeks have been fun,

-pulled out the headlights, took them apart, and painted the insides black to look like SE lights
(youtube helped take them apart)

- installed HID kit (thanks to skreem performance)

-tinted side indicators (left ring untinted for that z4 look)

-front bumper repaired debadged and resprayed
-rear bumper repaired and resprayed
-bootlid repaired debadged and resprayed

-yellowspeed coilovers ordered

-new wheels ordered

-trying expensive ass rotiforms (17x8.5 +20) for size/poke/clearance/offset/brake clearance
Image

sold the 17inch racing harts, put shitty boat anchors on in the meantime til new wheels arrive,
popped one of the 18's, running space saver at until i get a new tyre next week
Image

here is how i want the car to look eventually (forza 4)

Not what you usually see on mx5cartalk but its what i like and what i want :JDM: yo!

I think XXR make rims that are similar to the model you showed, also how much amber light comes out the side blinkers?

Nice work also on the headlights, did you use the oven?
