The Kelvinator - 92 NA6

Ok, so thought I'd start a garage threat on the 'Kelvinator' (name explained in my intro).
I have made a few small changes to the car since I've had it.
New items include a new Momo Nero wheel, alloy gear knob (soon to be changed) and some M2 Runabout mirrors bought from a forum member. Also hit the rims with some gold paint to change it up a bit.
I am being careful with mods as she is a low km 2 owner car. Everything will be reversible and I'm not a real 'power' guy.
After getting the mirrors, it has really inspired me to go for a nostalgic look. Plus the budget for the car will be quite thin as I have my other babies in the garage to attend to and also the MX is my daily.
Plans in the future are sway bars and coilovers, an oe style lip, flappers(!!??!!for fun), a cat back exhaust and eventually some nice old skool JDM style rims(this will be a way off but god I want the Works for sale in the parts thread).
This is her as she stands, will keep you updated as time goes by and as I continue to learn from the wealth of knowledge on this forum about all things MX5.

No, sorry for being vague. I have a bit of a classics/rodder background and I have a set of 14" whitewall tyre inserts in the shed. Seems no one has done it to their MX. Just a bit of rubber that sits on the outside of your tyre sidewall. Might give my car a cool old skool look or it might look like poo......always willing to try anything once.

So, got together with a signwriting acquaintance and after getting ideas from Hot Wheels cars.....this is the result.
Satisfies a bit of my old school rodder sensibilities as well as my love for vintage racers. Will I get done for displaying numbers? No one could seem to tell me at Transport SA and I think that 4 police cars saw me out and about yesterday with no negativity. At the end of the day, they're just stickers which can be easily removed. Next up a little lowering, then who knows. It's a daily driver so won't be going too silly at this point in time.

I like it. I wouldn't normally go for decals but that looks good in your case. Will look even better once it's sitting a little lower.

I see this going to work every morning (but my mx5 doesn't often go to work with me) - interested to see the decals in the flesh.

It's with a heavy heart that I advise that my MX5 has gone to a new owner today.
I have never owned a car that is so much fun and I thank all those on the forum that have been helpful and welcoming!!
With a new business venture on the horizon, the extra funds were needed, but I will be back, for sure, probably in a NA8 or even an NC, maybe in a few years.

Kelvinator.......out :D :NA6:
