My Cars now Turbocharged!!

Postby MasterZ » Wed Jul 13, 2011 2:02 pm

Hey Guys and Girls, Took my mx5 off the road for about a month to do a turbo conversion :P
Thought Id show you all what i've been busy doing.
At the moments, All that needs to be done is getting it engineered which is happening on Monday. So excited to get it back.
Got the car tuned and with a standard heavy duty clutch it made 171rwhp. They said it has a lot more potential, just need to change the clutch. Ill wait till it wears out before i do that though.

What I done to the car:
Begi manifold
Garrett GT2554R.. i think
720cc injectors
removed afm
front mount intercooler
aem wideband sensor
aem tru boost controller
custom exhaust system
custom cold air induction system with k&n enclosed box
Custom heat shielding
Tial Bov, not on the car yet.. waiting till its engineered haha
Wolf V500 ecu
Probably a lot more stuff i cant remember atm..

Some Pics..

Yeah I thought that too. I bought 550cc ones, but they didn't fit. So the workshop said they can order some 720cc ones in. They said they're good and can be tuned own low. So I went for it

Probably has 220rwhp in it at 15psi.

Looks neat. Lots of bling. A bit much for my taste.

Slim he's planning on upping the boost. I wouldn't be too scared to run 15psi on a stock na6 with all the supporting mods. My old na8 used to see 15-16psi for years without any issues. Just need a good tuner..

Isn't the weak spot the rods?
Which would bend due to torque??

Does boost psi really matter as long as you keep detonation in check?

The small restrictibe exhaust housing of a 2554 means it wont produce as much torque as a 3076 would at 15psi, so its safer. The PSI of boost means nothing. The torque it achieves does.
