Currently being raced in the ARDC supersprints at eastern creek and wakefield park, doing 2 min 1 second around eastern creek, and 1 min 17 around wakefield park.

As we do more work on her, will update this description and photos

I love the upside down parking/indicator lights

Body kit and tail lights aren't my sort of thing, but the wing I'll accept on a track car. Any interior and engine bay shots?

Hmm, with a near standard engine, that wing would be costing you more time thru drag than it makes up thru downforce benefit in corners..

will take some engine & interior shots tomorrow, and actually with the rear wing, its angled right to create enough downforce without costing much in the speed department (still hits 180 km down the straight at eastern creek). will hopefully be putting in a new diff next week, so will take more photos of the installation too if anyone wants some

Rascal's right, dump the wing it's slowing the car down, no matter what you think.

Bryan's done a 1:17.00 around Wakefield in a stock NA6A (1600cc) on road rubber and NA8A's with similar mods to yours are 4 to 5 seconds faster.

I accept your point Phil, the wing and other "performance" additions are a bit wasted at this point. But let's not be too harsh on Ben, eh? As far as I'm aware, he's only had a couple runs in this car at EC and one run at WP. It took me 18 months, about 300 laps, and perfect weather conditions to get down to 1:17.00 on street tyres and 1:15.85 on R-specs at WP! I'm sure Ben will benefit greatly from more seat time.

Speaking of which, I hope to catch up with you at EC on Sunday, Ben. If you're running in the same group as me, you're welcome to follow me around to see where I'm gaining/losing time. Please don't think I'm patronising or ego-deflating or big-noting - this is a genuine offer of help if you'd like it. Peter Price is running in Class 3B same as you (I think you helped build his car too!), and he will freely admit that he's improved his times greatly by following me. He says that if I can get round a corner that fast in a standard car, then he can damn well do it too in his NA8 race car.

Yeah, i admit im still learning on the track, we did 1 min 17 at WP the other weekend, and were happy with that, and have tried racing without the wing at EC, but the car didnt handle near as good as when its on, its set negatively so we get the right amount of lift and downforce at the same time, sure with the wing off we got it an extra 2 or 3km/h faster on the straight, but its truly effective in corners

How heavy are those BBS mesh wheels compared to, say, Enkei RPF1, lightweight SSR models or even the NB 15"?

They suit the car but would lighter wheels help your times?

They look like the BBS mesh that came on E30 BMWs, which if they are would be 15x7 and 7.7kg (17lbs) each..
