So i picked up this not so perfect, yet still very admirable peice of equipment about 7-8 months back now :D
The pictures may not show enough detail to pinpoint all the imperfections and may seem quite straight in the photos allthough i can tell you this thing has needed and will need alot of work in the future events to come. (hence why i picked it up so cheap in the first place) BUT i will add this is my FIRST CAR. yes you heard right #1. and i don't intend on selling it any time soon! or ever?

Here she is now

unfortunately i have no pics of what she looked like when i bought her (this is a good thing trust me) But since the purchase i have made the following alterations (excluding general mechanical work):

- new soft top (NB)
- New wheels
- New stereo + amps + speakers etc
- installed an NB windblocker
- New steering wheel
- bought a few things here and their for interior trim
- DIY respray on rocker cover with VHT wrinkle paint. (turned out awesome!)
- and a heap of other little things

NOW as the title states *NA6 FULL REBUILD* - The reason why i created this thread.
I am currently searching for a reasonably priced 1.6L long nosed crank engine with low KM's to replace my tired/ crank on the verge of dying short nosed 1.6 (280K km's) :D

I intent to strip the engine bare, clean up the bores, inlet and outlets, reseal and regasget the entire thing. New hoses, the lot. Chuck on a few extras before it gets dropped in.. like lightened flywheel, oil filter relocation kit etc etc..

Anyway i will be sure to take many photos of my progress and will keep this thread updated as i go so that in future it may help others thinking of steering in the same direction.

Thanks for reading.

She looks great, mate. I love what you've done to the cam cover!

Do you mind me asking how old you are? An MX5 is an awesome first car :D

Also, MORE PICS!

engine arrived last friday.. looks in great condition, i would take photos but its all wrapped in glad wrap on a pallet so im just going to wait till i start work on it.
unfortunately i am moving house within the next month or two so i won't be able to work on anything till that settles in.. so ile keep you posted on items i buy for the rebuild till then.

after i pay rego off at the end of this month i need to buy text books for uni so im pretty flat out with cash at the moment but once all clears up i will be looking for items such as free flowing exhaust and intake products.. performance clutch and flywheel... possibly modified cams allthough i am obliged to do a liittle more research on that matter as i am unsure if the price is worth the reward... and other than that just most of the seals and hoses.

hope to have some more news soon, sorry about the delay.
