Cheers,
Dann.

Also, has anybody made a rear undercarriage brace that used a tie rod so that you can put some tension on it like a strut tower brace?

Cheers

I think the consensus was that the engine dampers weren't really worth the effort..

I got stiffer engine mounts for my NB online from Derrick at Corksport in the US. US$69 pr.
Cheaper than sourcing locally, even with postage costs...

Great, I have an NA6, please direct me to where i can get solid mounts, or i may just make a rubber mounted solid torque mount or 2 like my rally car has.

Cheers,
Dann

EDIT: So no idea on the adjustable rear arm brace?

I use the cheapest Engine damper I can find from Ebay on the race car
The amount of dampening they do is AMAZING . after 10 laps of wakefield the unit is VERY hot to touch
and there are no side effects like Soild mounts . I highly recomend them for motorsport.

Great. Is it the one off ebay from usa. Because the ones I've seen don't lookcompatible with my mania style intake.

I bought the engine damper I PMd about. Then broke an engine mount, made my own engine mounts that have adjustable stiffness then onsold the engine damper to chriss on here for half what i paid. Haha.
My new homemade ones are tits, I can make them eom soft, or softer, and i can make them so tight the dash wants to fall out, in about 1 minute.

There is one in the how easy is it to do engine mounts at home thread.
Basically you cut the rubber completely from the factory sandwich plate mounts. Then you press out the studs that secure each side to the engine and subframe. Then you replace the rubber centre with whatever material you please. I used 3 layers of conveyor belt bonded together. Drill a hole through the rubber so that you can push a long bolt all the way through the mount, where the studs came out. Tack weld the head of the bolt so that it holds the mount to the engine plate(the other part of the mount) and so that it doesnt spin when you tighten it down. Then install it. its adjustable because when you tighten it it compresses the conveyor belt. Use locktite to secure the nut. And just tighten or loosen the nut a turn or 2 to adjust it. The nut it accessable without even jacking the car up.

Ill post detail pics if anyone wants to see how to do it. I did this when my mounts broke, it costs me about 8 dollars.

Not cheap, but I bet you could fabricate them yourself

Would there be much of an issue with clearence using rodend's for the chassis brace? I suppose it depends on where you where thinking of bracing it.

The easiest way is to buy tie rods from a high tensile bolt place, you can get them in reverse threads and you just use a threaded rod in between.

In regards to my adjustable mounts,
Ill take a standard one and do a write up showing how its done.
