RobH's SP

Well, I thought it was about time I posted up some pics of my SP.
I originally had a 1989 NA6 that I bought in 1996:
I loved this car and thought I was going to own it forever however all good things must come to an end and the NA6 ended up making way for my ultimate MX5, the 2001 SP.
When I bought it in 2005 it had 21k klms on it and was stock except for some lowered peddars springs which were a bit harsh but the ride height was great. It was in excellent condition and I quickly forgot about the old NA6, mind you I still love the original with the right wheels and a bit of lowering. Eventually I will pick another one up as I had plenty of plans for the old girl but never had the funds to make it happen.
The first mods were an auto meter boost gage, momo pedals followed by a Racing Beat Style Bar.
This was soon followed by new wheels so that I could run semi racing slicks on the stock wheels and have street tyres on the new wheels. It took me ages to find the right wheels, eventually choosing a set of Enkei GTC01.
Next in line was new suspension (PPS9's) which I imported from the states when the Aussie dollar was on a high. I also went for a Project Mu brake package which consisted of forged billet aluminium calipers, two pice rotors and braded lines. These were not cheap but stop brilliantly and also look the part. These get a good workout at Phillip Island and Winton.
The Racing Beat style bar ended up making way for a Brown Davis roll cage as things were starting to get a bit too quick on the track with a PB of 1.57 around Phillip Island.
The engine has been rebuilt after I lost all fluids at Winton during the first practice session of a track day which ended up cooking the motor. A proper rebuild followed with forged internals, balancing and general strenghtening with ARP studs and other high end products meaning the motor is pretty strong and ready for a bit more boost to be fed in. Currently we are working on a new ecu (ViPec) so that we can run more boost and do a proper tune on it.
These things take time however and I hope to have this sorted early in the new year. I will list all other mods completed on here soon.
