Hi,
This is an up date to
viewtopic.php?f=57&t=38606car was a total roadworthy nightmare, springs on bump stops, dented rims, etc.
we changed springs, front shocks, rims, tyres, and even got a style bar and leather seats with speakers in the headrests (thanks to Danny) all we have now is change out the gearbox.
before

After

During a drive to Mt tamb

which was the wrong day... it rained so Ruth had to put up the soft top (extra points for spotting the split in the rear window)

Do I get abused if I say I liked the before shots more?
And rain shouldn't be any reason to put the roof up, just drive faster!
Seriously though, looks nice and is a great colour.

YES
We still have hard top, and the front was riding on the bump stops, the rear was only just off them, and one rim had a flat spot on it, and two tyres were under legal, and sat 75 mm above the road, from bottom of rim to arch was 502mm all round. it may have looked ok but it was a deathtrap.
we will in the future when we can afford it get better rims.

They are not exactly what she wanted but.. after everything else we had to buy, they will do for now, as luck would have it the tyre fitter had them for sale (cheap)

Geez, what kind of a geek would you have to be to know they came from a Swift?
On that note though, were the other wheel MOMO copies?
Shame about the colour of the car... but I guess you can't see it from the driver's seat
Hope to see you at Lakeside or a club run soon.

and I even photo shopped the centers so no one would call me on putting Suzuki rims on it... what a waste of time... the others are genuine momo but one has a ding and another has a 4" flat spot on the rim
and scuffed to heck) they are 16" if someone wants em
and they whole point of spending the time and effort and money was to go on a club run.... coz we have never had a car that would be worth doing one in

Me likey. Well done.
Congrats on your choice of spring height and choosing to not live in fear of random speed humps and driveway scrapes . Two thumbs up.

You go to the top of the class, for saying you don't have to be low to be cool

I could say been there done that, but the previous owner Mr Stupid had it on bump stops, rode like go kart went like a bucking bronco,, 2 steps forward 3 steps sideways,,, now it is stock and it's staying that way, coz we are old farts and like our kidneys stirred not shaken. (just like our martinis)
it now loves the local shopping center car park no matter what speed bumps are there...

Exactly.
From the driver's seat you're still able to check your neighbour's wheel nuts when stopped at the lights as well. Too high, my ass.
I have no need to be able to park
under trucks either...
Three cheers for Urban Rally Height!
(P.S. so old, so farty...)

Everyone has a little geek in them... with me it just gets to come out to play more often
I'm going to go back to customising my Nerf Gun now...
Maybe a rattle can paint job can help differentiate them if you're fussed?
