Just pray, you never ever need to colour match your panels.

I believe they're a real ball-breaker to match. 8)

Aaaaah... I believe I can do a little myth-busting here 8)

If it is the old method of applying different layers of colours (to achieve an effect of different colours) then yes colour matching is a problem.

As long as it's the new generation of paint (that has prisms in the paint that catch the light differently) then colour matching is not a problem

I re-painted my front bar in June of last year as it was pretty badly shot up over the last 9 years of track days and club runs. It came out exactly like the rest of the other panels (albeit with less stone chips) :P

I use Standox Monte Carlo Magic which was new when the car was re-built back in 1999.

That sounds very optimistic to me

From memory, I used 3-4 litres but I had a hard top and also it was done properly (stripped down to bare shell and sprayed inside and out).

Happy to be corrected on this

Looked a lot in car yards but they were all overpriced and in only fair condition. Even had Felix look at an LE for me in Sydney (thanks Felix). Finally went back to the original car I had seen. Managed to get it for $8500 without rego (was on NSW plates).

Oh yeah hey I remember you ! Long time no speak, thats great you finally found yourself one, its been a wait but it must feel great. I bought mine the day I looked at the LE for you haha :P.

The car looks terrific- great value for money - when it comes to a genuine sporting car you cannot beat them. Enjoy

Here we go, touchy..

All i was saying is that the mod bug gets everyone, even the ones that say they wont do it. Is there a reason why you had to go that way.

pfffffffffffft............I used to mod the f*ck out of every car/4wd/motorbike I owned...........I certainly don't see any reason to mod our NC, I love it just the way it is...........if/when things fail or wear out I might consider aftermarket stuff, but I won't be changing anything just for the sake of it, I haven't seen any aftermarket bit I just HAVE to have, most of it is just cosmetic without any real benefit to me or the car.....but hey, that's just me, everyone has their own personal preference when it comes to their toys............I've seen NC owners salivating over a supercharger kit that they won't get any change out of 10 grand for......just to get a bit more power output over an SP???...............can't see the point myself.........I can think of a helluva lot more I can spend 10 thousand frigging dollars on that will benefit me a lot more than 50/60 KW in a car that goes a LOT quicker than its allowed to on public roads, & handles track work just as well as any other model of MX-5.

I have installed a Voodoo gearknob (worth 10 kw I'm told  )..........& I'll have a look at that new IL Motorsport replacement thingy for the silly centre console cupholders, but that's it
