I Bought an MX5 on sat 31st of may from glen via this forum. I am going to get it rego'ed next week i hope. It is booked in for tuesday for the r.w.c.

So far i have pulled all the turbo gear off and installed all the stock bits.

Took the roll bar off and the chassis brace from behind the seats.

Put the carpet and trims in. It looks a bit more standard now. Hopefully not too many dollars to pass r.w.c.

There is a very good chance that the RWC will require the windscreen to be replaced. If so and you are looking for someone to install one;

FX Auto Glass
0412 897 844
fox Partsch is his name. Has fitted a number of MX-5 windscreens for me. Cost around $150 and he comes to you.

Not affiliated in any way....just a happy customer.

Good luck with the RWC.

Cheers, I need all the help i can get on a small budget. I am going down to mazfix tuesday morning with the car and see if i get get all the bits i need. It's very loud now as the turbo was acting as a muffler. So will be changing the rear half of the exhaust too.

I have passed the R.W.C. Now i need to go to vicroads on wed to get the inspection done and give them some more money. And i will be ready to go.

I have put the turbo gear back on and changed the intercooler as well as the intercooler piping. I have shortened the I.C inlet buy over a 1m buy going thru the wheel well. And i painted all the polished alloy pipes to satin black as well as the intercooler. I am puting an under-tray in from the bumper to the radiator today. To help with airflow thru the intercooler as well as the radiator.
I also disconnected the blow off valve as it was dumping all the air and every gear change i had to wait for the pressure to build up again.

I have installed some race seats and lifted the roll bar by about 100mm so now it just touches on the soft top and is now higher than my head.

Nice car mate.
How did you lift the rollbar 100mm?
Also I would have left the turbo gear off till after Vicroads inspect it. They might make your life difficult if you get someone from Vicroads is smart enough to pick it as an aftermarket turbo set up.

I would have left it off if i knew i had to take it for insepction. I thought i would just pay for the rego without the car.

I bolted it to the top off the seatbelt bolts instead of the bottom and extended the support legs with some steel tube. I will weld some more tube into it when i have time to make the cage more supportive.

I made a turbo heatshield and an alloy undertray to help the air thru the intercooler.
