Totally resprayed in and out, cleaned up the engine and drive line.

Made some engine mods but now back to stock standard all over in and out. Its in shown room condition.
Will be planning to sell in the near future.

Funny enough I never took any. Maybe I was too embarrassed.

When I picked it up from Hoppers crossing in Vic it was like this:

The paint was a tan colour
four flat bald tyres no brake pad. (worn out)
Rusted out pillars must of had a screen leak that was never fixed
roof ripped and been constantly rained in.
Cat sh*t and what seemed snail bait or kitty litter every where.
Cob webs inside all over.
No oil in the engine tip some in and it came straight out the bottom.
Rear callipers were locked on.
Rear main dripped.
Interior had toys glued to the dash board
Windows didn’t work
Shift boots (Both) ripped and leaking oil.
Had slotted rotors on but needed a grind as the peddle shuddered
Drivers seatbelt didn’t return back
CAS O-Ring
The body had approx ten dimples on every panel.
Prior to rolling it into the panel shop I had it under various lights to get the right lighting to see all the dents. I marked each with a red highlighter .
Looked like the car caught a disease.
May panel beater a friend did the best job spayed in Glasurit automotive paint.
No bog in the car, all dents pulled out and panels high filled. All rust cut out and panels welded ( Windscreen)
I wont tell you the price because It will make you all cry.
The down side is I didn’t have my car for almost 1 year as it was a \"On the side job\".
I think It cost him more then it did me.

Now its like new no rattles nothing squeaks drives well.
I then turbo charged it, the wife wouldnt drive it anymore so now it back to stock.
Now a baby to throw a spanner in the works could see it with a new owner.
I'll try hold onto it for a bit longer.

That is immaculate and something to aspire to. Fastfreddy told me your car was superb but the photos truly bought it home. Well done

Another nice classy clean ride.

silverback2002, I noticed from your pic that you have a turbo blanket installed? Does it really make a different in reducing the under-bonnet temps? What are your thoughts on this - Pros & Cons?

Cheers

Track dog racing blanket

by silverback2002
The blanket is a track dog racing one.

I had it on my NA extractors prior to turbo .

It worked 70% better then any baffles or heat plates BUT my stainless steel manifold which was coated in high temp black still managed to melt the exterior.

You must get a turbo heat rated blanket. They are not cheap.

It cut down all the radiating heat that come off my manifold.

The turbo manifold I had would get that hot if you even touched it for approx half a second it would blister you badly. So the blanket didn’t do too bad under those conditions.

It was a thick blanket padded with heat material and layered with the foil like material on the exterior. you could bend it to form any shape and it would stay in that form.

Best thing for headers because it will not rust them over time.

Cheers,

Dan

I did all the work myself.

Handy with the tools.

Only cut myself a few times and needed stiches.

Those dam intercooler pipes are thick stainless steel and almost impossible to cut with a hack saw.
